The kumo suit was actually designed by Peach Momoko, who does a lot of work for Marvel - largely a spin-off set of books that reimagines Marvel through Japanese folk tales, and lot of cover work for books:
I mean, I love the comics (and I’m very fond of the movie) but I gotta agree with you, Scott is The Absolute Worst.
From the stuff shown in New Mutants and Way of X, mutant teens and young adults seem to be having a whale of a time compared to pre-Krakoa. But sure, very likely to be a bit of a problem for mutant kids 😅
Yeah, I don’t begrudge some of the returning to the longer-term status quo, but there’s some aspects of the Krakoan Age that should definitely be retained.
Or maybe do get me started on qi and we can excitedly talk about how the Shang-Chi movie really, really nails qi without referring to it by name?
I do get confused about trying to bring in non-Western traditions as inspirations in clearly euro-centric fantasy settings. It ends up feeling like lazy exoticising of Eastern stereotypes without having a nuanced understanding of real Asian traditions.
White, male, able-bodied, neurotypical, etc. If you’re disabled, non-white, or acting how they deem “odd” (up to them to define that), Met cops will definitely assume you’re on or carrying drugs. And, you know, if you’re a white woman, seemingly a decent chance you’ll get kidnapped and worse. 🤷♂️
Alec Holowka was accused of abuse by an ex-partner; the rest of the team cut ties with him on the basis of this and corroborating evidence that had been presented to them. Holowka took his own life four days after the accusations were made public.
Looks-wise, this is a pitch perfect casting. Hoping he delivers in terms of acting as well.
Actually had to Google that cos it sounded legit as a Rowling character.
Gellar used to live in the village where I grew up - I semi-regularly ran into him when he was out jogging, and he invited me and my family round to his mansion a few times, gave us signed copies of some of his books and a VHS of a movie about his life. Not only that, but he maintained a correspondence with my mum and…
Lately, due to some financial mishaps on Bruce's part, Alfred's death, and Dick's inheritance of Alfred's secret billions, Nightwing is actually richer than Batman. Crazy, huh?
European market trucks and associated engines are already quite different from their US counterparts. Honestly, at this point it's maintaining the status quo.
I might argue that the first Avatar was Air, given all the flying beasties that they rode...
Sunset Overdrive came out over 8 years ago, so not the best example to claim about a "recent" game.
So I guess in English we usually use the terms anime and donghua to describe animation made in Japan and China respectively, but in both those places those words just mean the equivalent of the English “cartoon” or "animation" and don't imply a national origin. So you’re sort of right. All anime are cartoons, as are…
“The CW’s had plenty of time letting Riverdale do consistently weird shit for nearly a decade”
Take this star, you've earned it. I'll correct myself - first full-length MCU musical.
I would very much like it if, after the whole full length musical, they end with a post-credit scene set in the modern day... Showing Hercules having survived into the age of Marvel superheroes, and cementing the movie as the first MCU musical.
