Make mine all wheel drive, with the big removable sunroof over the trunk area.

Want to slow down people? These work well, and I am sure are much cheaper than LRAD.

That's my point. Just because a car is made by the Big Three it doesn't necessarily make it American.

I am in the Army, so I could care less. I just love how former Marines get their panties in a bunch when called an ex Marine, which they clearly are (hahah!)

They are designed to sustain buoyancy (aka float) for up to thirty minutes, as long as all the belly plugs are installed. The Chinook is capable of inserting and retrieving boats right out of the water.

That is true for salt water; for fresh water not so much. I am not sure how much the chemicals on the pool might work as a catalyst, and contribute to accelerate corrosion.

Well, it's been ages and I don't have any written records of my fuel mileage, so you might be right. I do remember getting 40 mpg on a drive from Gainesville to Miami, pretty flat drive. At the same time my brother had a 1985 VW Golf Diesel, and his fuel mileage was insane, he would gt almost 60 mpg on the highway.

Is this available on Youtube? Can't access it here in Germany :(

085... I worked on that aircraft before!

A good CEO would say "I'll give a million dollar bonus to whoever finds a $2.30 per car solution to these car-crash related fires".

Chinooks will lift 25,000 pounds, so only one up-armored Humvee at a time.

I've put a Humvee in our Chinooks a few times. It's a tight fit. A Kia Besta van is tighter even!

They are not replacing the HMMWV, just in some missions and theaters. Whatever replaces the old trusty Humvee will definitely have to fit inside a Chinook.

No, that gets written off as a training flight that would have happened anyway, NASCAR or not. Military aircraft are always flying around empty so that pilots can maintain currency. Staying ready is not a waste of money, it's the right thing to do. A well trained military is a must. What makes America broke at the DOD

I mean aircraft coming to a halt, then the crew chief drops the ramp (hydraulic), then unfolds the ramp extensions (manually). If the Humvee is unchained in flight and ready to go you can have the vehicle out of the aircraft in less than a minute after touching ground.

If it fit, it flies! If it doesn't we sling it!

Unloading a HMMWV out of a Chinook before the aircraft stops sounds like bullshit to me. You need the cargo ramp extensions unfolded to drive out (see last picture), and you need to stop the aircraft to do that. On top of that the vehicle is chained down inside the aircraft, and the crew chief (CE) will be working
