The knob was understandable from a progression standpoint, it captures much of the same benefits of a lever and makes it more compact, it just seemed odd... quirky but not a ‘problem’. I think I'm just becoming an old stick in the mud.

I think the biggest issue for me on these button systems is that there’s no consistency across brands and they all seem to be throwing whatever they can at the wall and seeing what sticks.

Agreed here, the click-baity title aside (nerve-wracking would have been a better choice instead of terrifying) I think this is what we want to see in our early stage auto-piloting footage, cautious leaning towards confident.
Upgrading the stock run-flats to a non-runflat Pilot Sport a/s+. Those things are great if you're in a non-snow climate although I've heard some say they do snow well enough, but can't comment there. Great tires are a critical buy for a car!
