This is going to be an awesome build, can wait to see the rusty electric motor he digs up to power the best! Let’s not forget that electric cars were poised to battle ICE a 100 years ago. Surely DT can entertain us with some pre-war electrified madness.

Mrs Pyro would likely tell you it’s the heated seats and steering wheel, along with remote start during the winter. For me it’s the ventilated seats, I run on the warmer side but do enjoy the former when it’s cold enough.

They ain’t gonna run themselves!

Indeed, a parachute is good at making fast things straighten out.

I’m not entirely convinced the driver had much involvement in keeping that rig shiny side up, I think he was along for a very lucky ride, which could have ended poorly.

Awesome write-up Miss Mercedes, super thorough, great to see more of this back at Jalop.

True, I didn’t pickup on your BOF abbreviation, my bad.

This is true, not sure I'd want to take the depreciation hit on the Merc, Toyotas certainly hold their resale.

I’d wager the top spec off-road grand cherokee (which can be had w/ various v8s) can hold its own to the g-wagon and land bruiser.

Interesting but wow, that price is pretty much cost prohibitive IMO. I have a burny torch already and what’s life without a bunch of flaming danger?

I got kinja’d on the hyoer links I tried to insert above, sorry the above is garbled.

Now playing

The Fab Rats team has been interesting to watch. Not always a vehicle build but mostly. Production quality isn’t super high but they’re still learning. I came across them when watching Matt’s Off Road Recovery. Here’s a video about the trans rebuild for their new Corvair off-road rig.

Open source, nice. Hopefully a auto maker picks this guy up so he can do some good and extend the life of ICE.

Pretty sure that’s a Lambo....

It’s very strange to me that the marketing material from the manufacturer shows images of window tint, when I don’t believe you can order a German sedan with integrated tint....has this changed and I’m unaware (probably)?

In my experience leading teams, this sort of issue is related to a deep down culture within a work environment....VPs can and will say all kinds of shit but this is a top down problem. Yes, the employees shouldn't be coming into work but there's more going on here than just covid.

Such a fantastic body style.

Genius!

That’s the same location for fuel filler cap as the two-door version, no sense changing everything.
