This is not how it works. If a supplier wants to make the parts, they figure out how to justify the cost of tooling. If they purpose to Ford they need capital investment to be successful, then that can be part of their purposal but not all potential suppliers will do that.

So, good planning and forward thinking are no longer part of automotive supply chain execution?

I didn’t think it was all that common to sole-source in the automotive world.... especially on a difficult to manufacture, diecast magnesium part.

If you’re wealthy enough to own one then fine.....you can hate it but if you’re like me and will only admire then from the outside, I don’t care too much what the interiors look like but I tend to agree, that interior’s a bit much.

This makes sense too..... ultimately we should have a fraction larger than 1.

The truck 6.4 is probably a fair comparison for a typical truck but let’s use a performer engine in a performance vehicle and why not stick with the same 6.4L displacement you offered up, but let’s go for the SRT engine putting out 485 HP with peak torque at 475 ft/lb, with the same 400 ft/lb at 2500 RPM.

Typically this comparison is done as weight/HP.... Just curious why you went the other way?

What’s the obsession with this guy at engineering explained?

True....I was just pointing out that other manufacturers are giving customers silly options for power and Chevy seems to be avoiding the competition. In reality they could have easily tossed in the LS9 or something similar, to show a presence in the market.

Yeah, that coyote engine is hot and for 2018 the Gen 3 gives us 460 HP and 420 ft/lb of twist.....I can’t believe I didn’t think of it

It’s tough to compare a boosted 3.5L v6 to a NA V8 but I totally hear what you’re saying.

Good point, 460 foot pounds is a solid showing and it is a truck but I’d still expect more HP from a 6.2, even with that torque.

Lessons, that’s really what I needed to push me over the edge and pull the trigger on this beast..... The question is, will they apologize to my wife for me, if I sell the house to buy it?

‘Every station will have a CHAdeMO1 50 kW connector.’

When you can get 395 HP from a double ugly Dodge ram truck out of 350 cubes, I think people expect a little more from a performance oriented family hauler with 10% more displacement.....shouldn’t this 6.2 put out closer to 450/475 HP? Shit you can get a Jeep with 700+.... Chevy is kinda shafting its customers.

Clearly you haven’t seen the Camry drivers where I live... I’ll be surprised if they last 100k.

TBD....

I agree with these recommendations, spin the filter on until the gasket touches and then tighten 3/4 of a rotation after you lubricate the gasket with a little motor oil entirely.

A number of comments point out that you couldn’t get a manual in 14 on the original article and after research, I concurred. So, if we’re to believe it’s a 14....no manual. If the year is wrong and it’s a 15 or newer....maybe a manual.
