You’re right, it is a slippery slope. Straight down to being honest with the people we have sex with so they can make informed decisions about whether they want to have sex with us! We better be careful or we might slide all the way down end up making the world a bit better.
Answers to some questions:
Wtf? She consented to having sex with a man, and was deceived into having sex with a completely different woman. Here’s a tip: if you have to lie to someone to have sex with them, because they wouldn’t have consented otherwise, it’s rape.
You can practice on things that aren’t human skin.
So do you task yourself with the job of going to every man who’s ever thought of donating sperm and personally convincing them that’s it’s worth the potential future consequences, discomfort, guilt, and general unhappiness for the 30 bucks today? No?
They’re not. And now it’s an issue because people want sperm donations but no one is donating because they made that choice for themselves.
It is weird to so strongly object to Kanye running when white people have a foolish front runner they are propping up.
And the gravest error you made is to assume Jezebel is any indicator of “how Americans feel”. Also that this site really cares about feminism in any serious way.
I’m sure. :) Luckily for me, I’m not obsessive over internet commenters like you so my sense of self-worth isn’t tied up in what you think of me!
My dedication is on my job, my family and friends, and my goals. It is most certainly not on Jezebel commenting. If yours is, then you have gotten into a level of obsession with the internet (a “millennial” concept) that goes beyond anything I’ve seen before.
Trust me, writing down every interaction you have with a person on the internet is. not. normal. If this is the level of dedication you expect people to put forth on internet commenting, you need to readjust your worldview.
I definitely don’t think people believing they’re being followed/negatively goaded by particular people is nuts. That’s a real thing that can happen. I’m not saying anything about what nu believes, but what s/he’s demanding of Lady vs. what s/he’s willing to do.
This is kinda nuts. “I don’t want to identify myself visually, you should be writing down every interaction you have with people on the internet!”
It seems more like people just don’t know how to review properly. There are plenty of reviews that are 1 star over this issue, seems far more likely that of the like 500 reviews there are a few dozen that don’t click the right buttons than they hacked Facebook to change ratings.
Uhh...what? I’m quoting the study, not the media interpreting the study.
Likewise, these measures provide a useful but incomplete description of the process that occurs upstream from purchase behavior in that they only account for explicit memory, explicit attitudes, and explicit intentions. There is a possibility that implicit measures may differ from explicit measures (see Schacter,…
So they determined their effectiveness by just...asking the person if they want to buy the product? That’s not really what that kind of advertising is about - it’s not about making you consider the statistics and decide that you prefer that brand of clothing. It’s about putting the association between sexy/cool and…
“The better part of the last decade has been doing their show, and to have that removed — and instead for there to be this intense scrutiny of their every move — just isn’t something you get used to overnight.”
You really missed a chance to use “lesbian” there and have perfect alliteration.
