Yup, and Disney puts these stereotypes in their heads.

You assume the only racism is "don't play with this person" racism.

The fact that they tend not to notice it is what MAKES it important hat we watch out for it and stamp it out when we can. You're right, they don't notice it a lot of the time - they just accept it as "the way it is" with that culture, growing up with a racist perception of a certain culture because that's what they

I didn't say it was the only possible scenario. All I said was that in my opinion this is the most likely one.

I'm amused by your assessment that you're "more of an expert". Also by the fact that you're making out this man to be computer illiterate, unable to understand that websites are public, while you're making out this woman to be automatically suspicious of all .zip files sent to her from known sources.

It looks like it's a separate Kinja blog - from my experience with those, the Jez authors don't have control over it. I'm guessing since JC is the main author that she's the admin of it, so if she doesn't want to do anything then I don't really think there's much anyone can do.

Strongly disagree. You can send someone a website that you made yourself, hosted locally on their computer. Instead, he made it public. You can make a website be private to only people with the right login. Instead, he made it public.

I bet half of it is social pressure as well. If all her friends and family see just how much he loves her, they'll talk him up to her and try to convince her to get back with him, you know?

You sound like a real catch.

I want all that in private. I don't want to have to be explaining to my coworkers why my bikini pictures are all over the internet and getting their relationship advice because they saw how sweet Sam seemed and can't I just give him a chance?!

I mean, I expect that men can understand that fiction is fiction and that women aren't two-dimensional movie characters. I don't have much sympathy because I too have to deal with the terrible reality that movies are not real life.

In this scenario, you buy a plunger.

You dismissed the first comment I made, thus removing the entire discussion, not only with you, but with everyone else that responded to me on your thread. So "anyone who wants to look can easily see" absolutely nothing. I'll return the favor for this response to me. Thanks for your time!

Somehow I"m not shocked that the originator of this thread preferred to dismiss my legitimate criticism of her comment as opposed to engaging with it. :)

Ugh I was making egg salad and it included bacon and I almost just ate all the hard boiled eggs and then all the bacon and called it a day.

See if you had said that to begin with, I would have been totally with you. Unfortunately, that's not what you said. I'll take that as a misunderstanding and leave it at that.

1. Because someone likes to throw and participate in big parties.

If she was going to say it wasn't right for her, then she would have said that. That's not what she said. Words mean things, fortunately for our communication.

There's a difference between "I couldn't imagine doing it for myself because it wouldn't be worth it to me" and "I am unable to understand why anyone anywhere would "need" to throw themselves a giant party to celebrate a big step in their lives." One is thoughtful and understanding, and one is dickish. Especially with

Okay I don't get why so many people have to be like this. You didn't have a big ceremony, great! Good for you! Why did you have to put in the dig about just not understanding the people who aren't like you? I highly doubt you actually literally don't understand why someone would want to throw a big party.
