She was a runaway, so any number of things - fear of that man, fear of other men monitoring her who may be closer to her, fear of the people that are trying to get child prostitutes (I highly doubt those are reasonable, non-violent people), fear that she would starve on the street without the "support" (ick) of him.

I support the rights of homeless-looking employees!

The idea of dressing up for work really makes me grind my teeth. Reminds me way too much of the BS reasoning for forcing uniforms on me in high school; I'm not more productive because I'm uncomfortable and feeling like a drone!

WHAT NO

I listened with the audio and that's about what I got from it too.

"My job is to get money and my boss gives me some."

To me the word vagina is no more sexy than the word penis - I would never use the anatomically correct word for either in sexy scenario.

Omg it's like the child equivalent of the person who calls animal abuse on every animal youtube video!

I think basically you do them all because no one loves anything more than a good trend, amirite? My circle also does Selfie Sunday, so GPOY just got shifted for me.

Me too! Morally I think this is definitely more a case of adults not wanting to think of teenagers as people thinking about boobies because "ick they're just kids!!", not any kind of logical reason. I highly doubt the bracelets caused any kind of disturbance other than the ones the administration kicked up themselves

Real talk though: where can I get a top with a less garish design but a cut like that? Because I'm digging it.

Unfortunately, like many McDonald's employees, she didn't really have a choice. The restrictions on her time that came about through trying to go to school prevented her from getting a normal 9-5 job, only jobs with night shifts, so it was basically bagging at the local grocery store (which wasn't hiring) or a fast

My mom worked at McDonald's at night while she went to school during the day and tried to support high-school me. I think the low point was when the owner of the McDonald's convinced people to sign up for Thanksgiving shifts with promises of free meal tickets if they worked at least 6 hours. When it came time to

I mean I don't know about the lawyers but I presume they were trying to set a precedent at the school that they're allowed to do what they did, for future students who try to push the envelope just a bit farther over and over again until they're all walking around in assless chaps and dildo hats.

Maleficent? (Arguably) Cruella De Vil?

Can you link me to that study that says what happens to your body is identical to what will happen to everyone else's body in every situation? It would be really helpful to me! Thanks!

Maybe it's time to retire the phrases "out of shape" and "in shape" and stick to "fit" or "healthy". I'm no etymology expert but the only thing they bring to mind for me is literal shape, which would push forward the idea that being fit is something that you have to look a certain shape for.

In which article did Jez call out thin women as snobs for not eating enough?

And he can't have been any for more than 5 years or so because he was a grad student in 06 and 07. Comment histories are fun!
