Public pressure is one of the few things that can compel a corporation to do much of anything. If we keep screaming, "We want this game/series!", they'll make it. If I had to render a guess, I'd say Capcom's sales numbers have been pretty bad the last few years... Otherwise, they wouldn't say anything about it at all.

As someone who once took marketing, I can tell you that it was likely a correlation between people who buy games and buy that particular brand of apple juice (i.e., white, middle-class, middle-aged mothers). I live in Toronto. I get the highest speed internet possible and, during peak hours, it dips below dial-up speed. Basically, half the day, I wouldn't be able to play Sim City. I hope people pirate the shit out of this game and fix it so it works proper.
