What I want to know is why do companies pay people to spam in the first place? Has that been proven as effective advertising?

Well, from the photos it looks like there is a retractable lens... which means a lot better optics that a regular camera phone. So the quality should be as good as their point and shoots.

@Meh: Nope, you couldn't be more wrong about that. Leica doesn't really do electronics. Lumix is a Panasonic line and they have partnered with Leica more for marketing reasons by the look of things. Think Sony and Zeiss.

LOL, the store I work at brought these things in a couple years ago. No one gave a shit(probably because they cost too much). The margin is pretty low too, I think the supplier was being greedy. They weren't using Canon branded caps either...
