Wow, this is heartbreaking news. András was such a wonderful, pleasant, polite, hardworking member of the team. He will be missed.

I’m looking at the articles he wrote and realizing how many of them I recognize.
This is completely not true. Diana gains her powers as soon as she renounces HER OWN wish and says goodbye to Steve. She is shown running super fast and flying (?) almost immediately after.
Exactly! Him possessing a guy didn’t really add anything to the story anyway. She makes a wish, he gets a new body, his soul is in it, bing bam boom. It felt so arbitrary and poorly thought out.
The last scene, where the original owner talks to Diana, was really uncomfortable (even though it’s played as sweet, or some indication that Diana is opening up). She’s been sleeping with this man, without his knowledge or consent, and then she just kinda smiles at him... with context, it’s a bit creepy.
Also...why did Steve’s soul have to take over someone else’s body? There’s no reason in the film to think the Dreamstone couldn’t just reconstitute Steve in his own, fresh body. We’re never shown that such a limitation exists, it’s so weird to have decided the best way to incorporate Steve was to have him inhabit some…
I really wish Jason didn’t write behind a Paywall. I miss his stuff so much.
Is this a thing now at GMG? That ex-reporters are now dead to the company?
ALSO also white people after being called out for it: I didn’t know! I’m the real victim here!
White people: Black people are so sensitive.
Nope, you’re not. Daikatana sunk an entire studio and was unplayable in any form. CP2077 made close to half a billion dollars on release weekend, is by all accounts really great on a sufficiently powerful machine, and will likely make $1-2b when all is said and done, even after the refunds and the drama.
They’re lying. From only sending out PC codes, to ordering takedowns of console footage, to not showing base console footage themselves, it’s clear they knew it was a problem, and they hid it.
What I want to know is why didn’t they have the Democrats not lose seats in the house and have the Democrats take the senate if they were going to rig the vote. If it’s just having the machines do it why would you not have the down ballot votes changed or whatever? Of course that requires actual sense which these…
I suggesy reading “The Paranoid Style in American Politics” by Richard Hofstadter. It’s an essay from the 60s, but right-wing conspiracy theories haven’t changed their tactics much so much of it still applies. One of the feature of the paranoid style as explained by Hofstadter is that the enemy is at the same time…
It’s a key component of propaganda. The enemy must both be so powerful they are to be feared and hated but also so weak that they can be mocked.
Here’s what I find particularly amusing about these conspiracy theories. The people spreading them are the very same people who assume the government can’t get anything right, yet somehow they managed to come up with this elaborate scheme to steal the election and it went off without a hitch and no one has blabbed…
A lot of it is fear. The presence of a pandemic significantly uproots people’s lives, and people would rather lie to themselves and deny that it’s happening than actually deal with the problem. It’s a way to maintain control in a world that’s increasingly becoming chaotic.
“I don’t give a fuck about anyone but me.”
Just a reminder - we know how the flu works. We still don’t know how Covid is transferred... or you know, *exactly* where it came from or what the mortality rate is, or how it long term affects those that survive. Oh and of course, there are already flu vaccines... not so for covid.
