I’m having a hard time feeling a lot of sympathy for used-game retailers ... an industry whose business model inherently hurts developers (and is one of several reasons why micro-transactions and loot boxes have become so prevalent).

“Seattle police arrested Counter-Strike co-creator Jess Cliffe, 36, early this morning for sexual exploitation of a child.”

literally the first sentence

Prominent? Almost no one knows who this guy is.

Wow. That is tremendously disgusting.

Mate did you see the article earlier today/yesterday about the racist and jingoistic CS:GO crowd where one commenter ranted because the writer dare mention that the predominantly White male crowd puts everyone off (which is fucking true).

Bye, have fun at IGN. I’ll stick with a site that doesn’t ignore gaming news because it might make their readers feel things.

Wait, you don’t want to get it because of its exclusives? It has 3rd party games too you know...

In fairness to Yamcha, he had his moments in the series. Well. In Dragon Ball at least.

This is infuriating on so many levels.

PC Master Race, not so much huh?

I tried. I’m not on my game today. Just...go with it. Please.

quit screaming asshole

The Order?.. It’s on sale every month for $5. You pay more a month for PS+ than the game itself costs.

What? You do know the header image isn’t the photo in question, right? Activision had the picture and it was almost certainly thrown away by them decades ago. No one else had a copy.

I don’t have a dog in this fight, but this whole thing strikes me as weird. Activision was satisfied back in the day, and I have a hard time believing a teenager in 1982 would have been able to fake a Polaroid (which I seem to recall was the preferred form of proof for Sega high scores in their magazine later

We’ll probably never know the whole story unless Todd fesses up. But if Polaroids were so hard to fake, or Activision’s vetting process were so thorough, I think they probably would not have credited the two other people with the 5.51 score. Todd later stated those people had their scores revoked after they failed to

SUrely we can do better than this crap organization. Just watched King of Kong and TG is blatantly corrupt.

Except the polaroid doesn’t exist. All his times were “verified” by a record keeper who happens to personally know him (and who also is a child predator who has been in jail for years)

Or the simpler explanation: A dude that has been caught cheating high scores in the past has a fishy, unreproducible score, and has now assumed to be a liar.

It’s like that one time you tell someone a lie...
