It’s not a collectible. Regular corvettes aren’t collectible. The best Corvette is always the newest one. If this was a ZR-1, it would be a completely different story. For $50k, I’d get the best C6 Z06 I could find.

When I had a 1991 Corvette, I got a little excited because there weren’t a lot like mine - Obnoxious teal with a 6-speed and cloth interior (and that awesome L98 engine - still hold this was way better than the LT-1. Fight me).

So if you are going to drive it you might as well buy a higher mileage (but still low mileage and pampered C4 Corvette) for a lot less money. If I was going to spend $50,000 for a car to lock up and admire in my garage to swoon over from time to time this copper topped Corvette would not be it.  Maybe a museum would

I saw it at the L.A. Auto Show and the rear quarters look like a Camaro. I might be a typical internet moron, but I’m not wrong about the Camaro-ness. You are a typical fanboy.

The Grand Highlander looks literally nothing like a minivan. Where is this “joke” coming from?

This is the correct answer. Car sex is a young person’s game. When you’re an adult, it’s just a felony.

As long as it runs well, has no warning lights, and the heater works, this would be a hell of a winter beater. NP knowing that if anything goes wrong, it’s going to total it.

Looks more like it made it to almost 200k, needed a new engine, and the guy bought one with almost 100k on it?

Why is it surprising SEMA would sponsor this? Their whole reason for existing is to promote the automotive aftermarket sector. It doesn’t get more aftermarket than swapping out the entire drivetrain with non-OEM equipment.

Experts warn about many things.

Jehu Garcia did this in his garage, it was awesome.

People die working on cars all the time.

It’s the thought that counts? Honestly, it’s a meaningful gesture and a fun bonus to people all ready to plop down the cash but this will be 10% off at best. That’s not a lot of incentive.

Better than a sharp stick in the eye.

It is.. and it isn’t here yet.

Europe is crawling with SUVs/CUVs created by every European manufacturer ... including PSA. You can have your choice of several Pugeot and Citroën SUVs and crossovers today.

We went through this before when this was reported in The Morning Shift.

A low center of gravity is a mighty fine thing. Though I’m really shocked that the new Prius is even in the ballpark - I thought the GR86 was a lot lighter.

Both springback and crumpling problems are the result of faster work hardening in stainless steel relative to carbon steel. The crumple zone thing is just a math problem. You can certainly account for decreased plastic energy dissipation in the structural design. But if boy wonder already had a product launch before

Makes sense.
