The seats in these were incredible.

> Which I don’t know why they’re still messing with a CVT.

Yep. Off camber corners are pretty treacherous. Especially in inclement weather.

> Who freaking drink some alcohol after being in accident and killed 2 people. Google it, I am not joking.

Asking ain’t selling.

I’d argue that it’s better than it used to be. Prior to this, the SL and AMG GT overlapped a lot. At least now, the SL is a convertible cruiser while the GT is the race car.

This is a competitor to the base 911, not the Cayman. This would be a replacement for the AMG GT, which used to compete with the base 911. But this gets like 30 more HP.  The base 911 finds customers at this price point, so I’m sure this will have no problem.

I wouldn’t mind having one of these, and turning it into a bastard anti-Wrangler by dropping it and putting wide street tires on it. Basically destroying any notion of off-roading capability.

Wranglers have long been vehicles for rich people who like to pretend to pretend to not be rich. It’s the humblebrag of vehicles.

> but goddamn that torque number.

I’m pretty stoked, I think all of these are home runs. Especially the I6 turbo versions. I’m glad to see a domestic company that has the courage to replace a V8 with a turbo 6.

though I guess I can’t rule out suspension geometry

Supra buffets with the windows down at speed?

Space limitations [...] demanded the more modern and efficient V6.

it also decided that Wagoneer should be its own sub-brand.

The WRX has always been hideous. People just forget because we come to accept bad design with age. The terms “bugeye” and “pignose” were not terms of endearment at first.

7) After you realize what a boneheaded purchase the car was, you can throw a hellcat badge on it and it will be stolen that night.

Damn, nearly 5,000 lbs?!?!

Good to see Jalopnik revisiting the classic article format. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen a “buy this old ass luxury car for the price of a reliable new staple automobile” article.

I’m excited for a two-seater sports car EV. Heck, even back seats would be fine. But I want something that’s capable of cornering in the 1.10g range, more than I care about sub 4 second 0-60.
