Hmm, what will I pick when the choices are between, a Merc station wagon or flagship BMW? Yeah, the X///M.

1st Gear: The Problem With MPGe

1) Switch to energy per distance. (ie liters/km, gallons/mi, kw/mi.)

The dude broke the rental agreement, lied about it, and now he gets to pay. Brakes and tires are easy economic damages to prove in court, it’s hard to argue that racing a car doesn’t accelerate wear on brakes and tires more than regular driving. And those have a fixed price tag, unlike nebulous things like “increased

Having ridden in a supercharged E46 M3, also with 500HP, I can say that superchargers don’t do much for this engine. If this thing makes 500hp, it would be on a dynojet and only for a hundred RPMs. And it probably runs high 12s on a good day.  The S54 is best left stock.

I’m still disappointed that they didn’t do anything to really differentiate this from the CTR. No AWD and no automatic. The styling is slightly more aggressive than the snooze-fest Civic, but that’s it.

E-Fuels for the 1 Percent

i resent Ford cravenly trying to cash in on a reputation and trying to manipulate me.

I’m glad to see the crossover hate finally start to wane. I never really understood how people could love wagons, but hate crossovers.

I’m sure this has nothing to do with the fact Ford offers a manual transmission on 4-cylinder and V6 Broncos.

Telsa drivers drive like asshats - all you have to do is pull up next to one in fast-looking car.

I’d take a GTO, a ‘Vette, or a Gen 5 over one of these every day of the week, and at that price, you could probably find one..

$20k was the base price of an z/28 in 1998. This would have been a hair over $30k new, being an SS with the SLP (basically, fully loaded).

I couldn’t see paying that much on an object that depreciates so fast.

I didn’t say it was normal, I just pointed out that it’s not the biggest deal. New cars are generally reliable enough to make it 10 years without more than basic maintenance, and used car prices are likely to continue to be elevated long enough that buyers probably aren’t going to be too far under water.

This is a good guess, but I’m still hoping for the big boy engine in the Taco.

I guess vanity is a huge thing in truck sales.

That unit pumps out 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque, which. that’s probably overkill for the smaller Tacoma.

The best part is that many of these cars are reasonably affordable and importable today

1st: cars are more reliable and warranties are getting longer too. Getting a 7 year loan isn’t that different from getting a 5 year loan on a 2-year old CPO car. Plus, with depreciation being how it is, you probably won’t be too far underwater with a 7 year. I’ve had my Prius for 10 years now and it’s still never
