This sounds like a typo. The battery pack probably costs around $10k for the standard, or$13.5k for the extended.  So neither option sounds right.

I have a Prius as a second car and I think it’s a pretty fun car. They are light (~3000lbs) and the underlying platform is decent. The GR Corolla is on the same platform as the current Prius. The previous gen was a platform mate with the tC.
