That’s a good point.  The opal is supposed to be the tip-off.  We’re supposed to notice that it’s the same opal that Claire has been wearing.

It’s pretty easy to skip the chapters dealing with things and people you don’t care about, but honestly there are a few new characters that I really like in those books, though I am in the minority.

Oh, *not* bothered! Doh! Words matter, I guess.

They spent a really long time trying to cast that role.  I’ve wondered sometimes if they just ran out of time and said, “Fine, you’ll do.”

1) Explain, please.

Sometimes people get thrown out of the stones on fire.

No, it’s really not.

And for what it’s worth, I’ve never made a Rachael Ray recipe, but I suspect that I have stolen ideas from her.

There are countless parents out there who do not give a shit about the science behind their cooking or the absolute ideal way to chop an onion. They’re busy people trying to feed their kids after work. They’re not doing it for fun - it’s a chore, not a noble calling.

That was 20-some years ago!  The poor guy deserves to get some every decade or two, doesn’t he?

Richard Rankin is a good actor but they just ruined him this season.

Okay, this is where Rachael Ray & I part company.  She could spend only $40 a day but only if she stiffed the waitstaff.  Her tips were TERRIBLE!

I loved her show.

Sandra Lee is indefensible but I think Rachael Ray got a lot of people cooking who might not have cooked, and that’s something. Way back in the day, the FN had a nice variety of skill levels so that both experienced and inexperienced cooks could find useful content.

Only if she brings her Kitchen Aids with her. The ones that are chosen to match that episodes daycore and do nothing but huddle in the corner in shame.

It makes me think that all is not well in Outlanderland. If they’re going over Tall Ship’s (the production company) head right to the network and Sony, that makes me think that they’ve already struck out with the production company.

I like how absolutely no one is trying to understand Roger’s feelings. Roger was beaten, kidnapped and then enslaved. Then he was forced to help a man burn to death more quickly and watch a woman burn to death with him.

What other relationship has he had since the maid in season 2, more than 20 years prior to his boning Jocasta?
