They totally could have skipped her character and found another way to accomplish what her character accomplished. She doesn’t get interesting as a character until the later books.

Yes, she should have been more prepared, true, but the pb&j is a nod to the books. When Claire went back in 1968, she took a pb&j with her. She eats it in Edinburgh, right before she tries to find the print shop. The show skipped that so they gave the sandwich to Bree instead.

The reason her English accent was “pretty decent” is because the actress is actually English.  One of the reasons some people find her acting odd is because, especially in the beginning, you could tell that she was struggling with her American accent.

The titles rarely mean what they seem like they would mean taken literally.

I have a feeling that, in person, Camilla is a hoot.

That’s exactly what happened.  It never crossed William’s mind that Jamie was telling the Cherokee the truth.

Exactly. It wouldn’t occur to him in a million years.

There is no way that he believes that Jamie is actually his father.  None.

Plots are not DG’s strong suit.

Why would it be more fitting for them to take their anger at the Germans out on Jamie and a young boy?

He is one of my favorite characters in the Outlander series. He has a couple of books and novellas of his own, in fact, though I find some of them boring because I really am not all that interested in the political intrigues he gets involved in.

Yes, exactly this.  Rollo stayed with Claire in the previous episode because both Jamie & Ian were going to be away, leaving Claire alone.  In this episode, his guard wolf duties were presumably not needed so he was Ian.

But you aren’t the future Queen, either.  Is anyone more awesomely boring than QEII?  It’s practically her job description.

The episode that frightened little-kid me involved Agnes Moorehead. I don’t even remember the plot but for some reason, her silhouette was permanently etched into the wall by her bed after she died. Now that I’m typing it, I see that it doesn’t sound all that scary but it terrified me. Maybe I was already primed to be

I imagine that most people are someplace in between. I know I am. I pay for most things with my card but sometimes I use cash. I try to always carry cash to cover those times I was an idiot and left my CC in my other pants.

I didn’t say it wasn’t proper; I said it seems gross to me. I’m a Louisiana gal so I’m all about the roux.

I want a set of that glass in the second-to-last photo.  I want it a lot.

So you’re not a fan of chowders in general?

One of the points of making a roux is to toast the flour, which has an effect on flavor.  A flour slurry just sounds gross to me.

I’m sure it’s the latter.
