How could that event have been portrayed in a way that wasn’t troubling? It was supposed to make us squirmy and uncomfortable! They did the absolute best they could have in the circumstances - they prevented a sexual assault and they freed a human being. What should they have done better?

Geillis has always been a villian. The reviewer might think back to the last episode of season 2 in which she burned her husband alive in order to power her trip back through the stones. Why is it somehow beyond the pale that she gets up to no good with young boys? So far we know of two husbands that she’s killed with

Harry is so much cuter!

Outlander isn’t, strictly speaking, a romance and there is usually a dearth of feel-good lovey stuff. An awful lot of genuinely dark things happen to people on this show. Yes, there is a romance at the center of the story, but that’s not all that the story is, especially as we go forward.

I’ve posted details about exactly what she’s missing and I try very hard to keep my comments confined to just what we’ve seen on the show. Last week I had a really long post that Kinja ate.

This is a better than normal review, but that doesn’t mean that the reviewer is completely on top of her game, either.

It’s all about context for me. If we’re talking about food, it’s okay. But anything else? That’s a big nokey dokey.

I would swear that they still do. I’ll have to check that out.

It is the only exception I make to my rule against eating at chains while traveling that also have locations in my town. But still, if I’m in NOLA proper, I’m going to want to eat a lot of things that aren’t fast food fried chicken.

I dunno. The Popeyes here in the Pacific NW, at least in the Portland area, are pretty good. Not quite the same but still really freaking good. And I grew up eating the real thing in NOLA so I’m not really easy to please.

I cooked mine for a while uncovered and it was fine. I mean, it wasn’t Norman Rockwell, but it wasn’t actively gross, either.

Speaking of racist names, my late-night Bourbon Street snack of choice was an eggroll from (I shit you not) Takee-Outee. They closed a long time ago but damn those eggrolls were good after some hurricanes or French 75s from Pat O’s. Or any booze from anywhere, really.

The past two years, I’ve bought turkeys from Popeye’s and the only reason I didn’t this year is because I still have half of the one I bought last year in the freezer waiting to be turned into gumbo. Maybe I’ll get one closer to Christmas.

Well, we know he’s alive so I guess anything could happen. Lots of book readers are PISSED that he’s still alive. Me, I’m tickled.

True, but that’s hardly an original thought. There are reviews by non-book readers that are MUCH more insightful than these.

Hey, you. I’ve been around but not usually until a day or two later.

Was that renewal “specifically so they would have the option to tell Voyager over 2 seasons or a season and a half”? I read a lot of stuff about Outlander and this is the first time I’ve heard this. Everything I heard was that the two season renewal was for Voyager & Drums of Autumn.

That particular section is egregious because even if she hadn’t read the books, she should have understood that Annekja was grateful for Claire saving her husband’s life. The reviewer handwaves this away as some minor act of kindness.

Oh, okay, thanks. My ex-husband used to pretend to read those books.

Lucky for me, I’ve never even heard of that. What is it and when did it come out?
