I fully expected to vote ND when I looked at the price and lead image. After reading the details and looking at all of the sellers photos however, I think this is a reasonable price for the car. ASC isn’t some guy with more beer than brains and a sawzall slapping on a wagon body that they dragged off of Uncle Cletus’

My dad had a Coupe DeVille from 71. Absolutely one of the most amazing cars I’ve ever driven. That 472 is vastly under-rated. On the highway is where it’s truly stunning. Push the pedal down, and the pedal actually stays in the same position relative to the earth. The back of the car just sinks and nothing happens.

That has all the appeal of a cup of chicken fat with a hair in it.

Yeah, but it won’t be making anymore runs.  Last time I saw it, it was on fire

Not to make light of this obviously dangerous situation but I’ll take a wayward reptile on my plane over a drunken anti-masker white trash every day of the week.

Yeah, I bet the suspension and brakes on this old Jeep would be more in synch with the old six too.  I don't care much for the mods from a looks or driving standpoint, I could still nice price it, bit it would have to be a LOT cheaper.

Not my cup of tea but definitely worth $29k if this sort of thing is your bag, baby.

Edit: and for shit’s sake, what is with everyone and never wanting to touch “another guy’s project”? Nobody among you have ever purchased a car that the previous owner worked on? Will nobody here ever purchase a restored car? Because

The one thing that humans still have (if they actually used it), is the ability to predict another drivers potential behavior and to be proactive. A good driver should be able to detect little nuances that people do, like noticing a driver in the next lane getting closer to your lane even for a bit. You should be able

Geez Toyota went a little cray cray on the logos on the back.  4 logos with 5 different fonts.  Who approved that.

don’t get the name of the original statue. “The Whisperer”. If my wife blew beans hard enough to pull her nightgown taunt, it wouldn’t be a “whisper”.

Italians do it better.

Any word on the Creedence tapes?

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that the people who don’t care if others die of Covid would be the same people who would commit this much time and resources to just being obnoxious. Zero people have died from wearing masks and getting the Covid vaccines. And get out of here with that slippery-slope fallacy that

The problem with these cars is the tiny wheel wells. You just need to lower the car and fabricate some metal fender flares, you have an cool looking ride.

Hold up what Battlebots team are you on

The Ford 300ci I6 has a crappy flowing head. Some say its the only weak link in the engine. It has a head bolt pattern of 4.480" front-back, and 4.240" left-right. The GM LS heads flow great, and they have a bolt pattern of 4.400" and 4.330" respectively.

the best take here so far, and I want to subscribe to your newsletter

You say that like a 350 Chevy and a TurboHydraMatic comprise a ticking time bomb.

Oh, come on... just because it’s someone’s project doesn’t necessarily make it scary! Chip Foose, Carroll Shelby, Larry Shinoda... they had some great projects. I’m sure this is the same.

Exempt V8 swap in California?  That’s worth something, I’m not sure how much, but then again $6k is cheap for a toy.  Why not, NP if it checks out, take it to car shows and it’s a nice conversation piece.
