Have the 04 version if this - can confirm they are very reliable; can’t think of a single ‘weak point’, and I’ve owned it for 16 years.

NP - if mice had infested it, the headliner would not look that good.
Likely the refrigerant is R12 - unobtainium. So getting AC working again is not as simple as a recharge (which we know is inaccurate anyway).

The car is clean and all, but I’d have put a black non-obtrusive AC Delco battery under the hood; that lime green interstates battery just jumps out screaming ‘Cheap, Cheap, Cheap’..

Mrs. PunkRock has a ‘06 Mini, similar to this one in that it has the Cooper package and auto transmission; hers is a convertible. Rear visibility with top up is pretty bad.
Repairs can be expensive; AC recharge was reasonable, but a water pump replacement was $2k (shares a shaft with the supercharger, buried deep).
