If this has the same transmission as the Honda Pilot, better make sure the oil change place does not top off the transmission fluid; if the wrong stuff is used, tranny is toast .. (learnt this the hard way).

Transmission issue could be as simple as the pilot bearing / bushing; that is what is amiss with my current 72 GMC project. Completely drivable, just noisy as all get-out.
Having said that, remedy includes dropping the transmission .. not an easy task to contemplate for the average Joe. Then ‘while you’re in there’
