I disagree. I’m one of those jerks who believes that salaries should be connected to the value of the work done and the scarcity of labor in that area. A plumber may not have a master’s but that doesn’t mean he should make less than someone with a PhD in Philosophy.

$25 is too high. Looking at comparable institutions: The Louvre is €8.50 (~$11.00) and the Prado is €9.50 (~$12.00) for adults.

It makes me sick. How is it okay to say someone is an adult when it comes to punishment, but not an adult when it comes to literally anything else? I just looked up the age of consent in Wisconsin and it’s 18, so at 10 we can admit that a child is not old enough to understand the repercussions of sex, so clearly there

Of course they do. Because the public would be outraged if a child offender’s punishment was decided by a court specifically created to deal with child offenders. Because the public is an asshole.

I looked it up, apparently any kid older than TEN who is on trial for murder or attempted murder gets tried as an adult in Wisconsin. Let that shit sink in for a minute.

Is this actually a story about greed though? Lists like this are meant to be an aid for people who want to restrict their investing to companies that share their values. This story is only about greed if you think all stories about investing are about greed.

So this definitely seems like some dipshit negotiating tactic he learned from some faux-alpha-male fraud back in the 70's, the business equivalent of negging that’s been rejected by every person who understands competent negotiating (“Insult your opponents ahead of the negotiation! Make them think there is no deal

It’s not a switch, it’s a gradual process, but most people’s brains are mostly mature by their mid to late twenties. It varies from person to person. I started finding it easier to keep track of my life in general in my late twenties.

Thank god I am a mature and responsible adult.

I think the snark in this article is more on Forbes for calling him the “feminist” choice than on Seth Meyers, who is just fine and certainly better than Ricky Gervais or Jimmy Fallon. I agree, Seth will probably be good at this. Also, Get Out is almost certainly going to win its category this year so it will probably

But then why not say Amber is the feminist host we need? I love Seth Meyer, and I agree with your sentiments, but it still might be nice to not have a white male host.

I love Rashida. I bet Pixar was overwhelmed with relief when they started reading, but then she hit them with that last sentence like:

Also my cat would have knocked something off the edge of the earth if that was possible.

Either way, I personally don’t think Franken’s conduct is worthy of resignation. He should be called out on it (and has), he should apologize, genuinely (and has) and he should be given the opportunity to atone and make up for what he did, and I think staying in the Senate pushing for legislation that helps women is

I don’t think Franken should be burned at the stake for being stupid. Don’t we want men to learn and understand why we don’t find that kind of ‘humor’ funny? Don’t we want them to understand that it is belittling and humiliating? I strongly suspect that Franken totally gets that now, as do a great many other men.

Thank you for this. I’ve been asking the same questions but it seems that some people are incapable of stepping out of their extreme, entrenched positions where everything is black and white. That isn’t going to help either, if anything it will just fuel the backlash.

All of this. It’s all reprehensible and needs to stop, but indeed, we can’t paint all of these things with the same brush. If this continues to happen, the blowback is going to be horrible, and nothing will get any better.

Regarding Al Franken: His actions were horrible, but at what point do we can we stop painting everyone with the same brush? He was a comedian, albeit one that I never found particularly funny. He’s clearly joking in the one picture that I saw, and grabbing someone’s butt during a photo in the past sounds like a

I think it is entirely fine to make fun of rich people who use poor grammar.

By having a, um, basic wedding.
