I’m sorry. :/ About 50% of my motivation for moving away from bumfuck midwest after high school was definitely being able to see good shows/films.

Anybody here watch that new show she’s starring in, The Whispers? I watched a couple eps, but it didn’t really grab me. It has her and Jess Mar—-I mean, Milo Ventimiglia in it though, so I plan on giving it another shot.
Yes! I did feel kind of ashamed and guilty, especially during a particular scene with Jennifer Connelly when she does something for drug money...ugh, I think I need a shower and a feel good rom com now.
I had the same thought. The only other thing I remember seeing him in is Bully, which is another Larry Clark film. I just looked at his imdb page though, and it’s chock full of entries so I guess he’s getting steady work.
I had such a crush on sad little introspective Lou Barlow. I saw Sebadoh a couple years back, and he was still adorbs to me.
I like that term! It sums it up pretty well. I watched Requiem with my mom, and afterward we just both silently got up and walked to our separate bedrooms and sat in the dark for a really long time. It’s so very heavy. It was beautifully made, but I haven’t watched it since.
Chapelle was right. Everything is cooler in slow motion.
I love all of your comments on your thread and don’t have much to add because you’ve said it all very well. Good point about this too:
True. I look forward to some Gunpowder and Lead intensity.
So, I’ve never watched either season of this show, but wasn’t last season super serious and arty and good? If memory serves me, people were praising it as like the best television out there so what the hell happened? Do they have the same writing team/creator working on it now?
That’s how I feel about ma’am too. I think it’s just usually a formal/respectful address in their minds when they use it. I mean, I got called ma’am when I was on the younger end of the teen spectrum. I looked super young. It wasn’t a way to make me feel old and worthless unless they had a seriously fucked up Mr.…
Actually, unless the things I’ve read are wrong, it’s actually like specifically for having a secret affair. So, I can see your last three categories, but I don’t think this is a site for swingers and poly people who are consenting to extra people in their marriage. There are sites more suited to that.
Definitely. It still makes me sad.
Damn, Eldritch. I wish I could help you overcome that because even without the being less wasteful bit, it saves you a lot of money! Keep being strict about meat and dairy though for sure. My bf does not seem to get that and will insist that I’m “so strict”. Uh, no I’m just trying to not get us sick. I think his nose…
I had no idea what you were talking about (I Googled, so now I do), so all I could think of when I read that was Krebstar products.
Now I’m fiercely craving boudin, but I live in the north. :(((
No, I don’t need to change my perception. You’re doing exactly what I complain about. Putting on your privilege blinders and lecturing people (a stranger whose situation you have zero knowledge of no less!) about how we’re just not “trying hard enough” if we don’t have the means to travel. STOP. I didn’t ask for your…
Is it the “GOSHOPPING” code? It keeps rejecting it for me. :(
There is a whole lot of Drew being awesome in it! I don’t mind Justin Long though, so I can’t say for sure if there’s too much of him in it. It’s definitely a more realistic, honest rom-com than most though.
Oh, I definitely get where you’re coming from! I have to defend Gilmore Girls on pretty much a weekly basis because it was on the WB and female centric and created/written by a woman so there’s no way it could possibly have super smart His Girl Friday-esque dialogue, right? It’s exhausting.
