but there’s no rust...”

I’m guessing this but more rusty

Not sure how true it is, but I was once told that the Porsche 996 used a similar system where the coolant was only circulated through the heads and not the block. That’s why the 996 still has an oil capacity of ~12 quarts and a change quantity of ~9 quarts in spite of the then-new water cooling system.

What a stupid remark....

Yeah the exception was intended more for the Ford GT or similar cars that literally don’t depreciate than for a Lexus or Wrangler or something that still loses value, just slowly. You’re not coming out ahead with anything mainstream by the time out-the-door prices are compared.

“...and get very nervous even thinking about daily driving it into Manhattan.”

Back in 2002/3 I traded in my Acura TL-S (made me realize I didn’t like trunks, went too fast too effortlessly) for a Nissan Xterra in basically a straight-up key swap.

Then a few years after that, when gas prices exploded in 2005, I traded the Xterra for a 2002 Mazda Protege5 straight-up.

Loved both of them. The

They just need a to create a separate event called “Curbs and Mustangs”.

You can like and want a pension. They're great for the employee, if they manage to get the full pension. However over time, they end up strangling the company and the pensioners get screwed too. I've seen the financials of pensions and the companies that have them. They really are objectively unsustainable.

Neutral:

We still have two BMWs but I went (daily) BMW -> Acura -> Toyota. It’s far from an appliance, but I too got tired of the repair bills.

Ex BMW owner here. I still think they drive amazingly, and are generally good cars. But as they got more complicated, repair bills got more expensive. It got to a point, that I’d bring good donuts and coffee for the service department to make sure they were in a good mood (it worked).

We have gone over six months without Blake Z. Rong content, and that is outrageous.

there’s no reason to keep my junky 1992 Cherokee, but I just can’t let go—most people aren’t as weak as I

At least we didn’t get yet another gear about the sales slump in China.

Show me where Trump hurt you.... I swear, this website may be the BEST car enthusiast site out there, but goddamn there’s lots of fucking whiners on here.

This is a great idea.I’m looking forward to the results

And I should mention, I’m not even a JEEP FAN! ;)

David,

Right???
