My only gripe with the Taycan is I’m the type who likes to get in my car and drive 12-14 hours in one direction.

Most people aren’t car people. The people I’ve seen can’t tell the difference between a base model Boxter vs a 911 Turbo 4S Cabriolet.
I thought it was better written than some of the pros who work for the Jalopnik.
I had to regularly stuff my 6' tall self into the back of a ‘70s 911 as a kid - with my baby brother beside me. Because the alternative was walking. Luckily, kids are bendy and don’t generally have bad backs.
Haven’t checked the prices of 356's in the past decade or so huh? To get a good Speedster the Turbo S money will just be the down payment.
Porsche making a new car with with similar looks to the old on isn’t the same as Nissan putting a body kit on a 350z and calling it a new car for a 2nd time.
Nah. We don’t complain about Porsche not fucking with what already looks good and performs better, but we will certainly complain about a 350z in a retro body kit with an ugly front fascia being presented as a new car that’s supposed to excite us for the future of Nissan’s offerings. Those two are not the same.
This obviously one of those places where kids go to learn how to be writers. The ones that are actually GOOD at it go on to bigger and better things. Then there is David Tracy, a legit engineer who does this because he LOVES it, and it shows in his writing style.
This is Jalopnik. Cynical snark is the culture round these parts.
Raph is just a hack, no other way to put it.
Many of the writers here thoroughly panned the Cybertruck for being too weird, and now we’re being told the F-150 EV is bad for presumably being too normal. One day GM is bad for not having an EV strategy, and then the next day they are bad for having a comprehensive…
I’m honestly surprised an article dedicated to a Ford EV didn’t include the writer shitting on GM for some mundane half truth. The best description I can compare to the writing lately here is single issue voters. Like they have to have this one thing, and if it’s not how they have it in their mind, the rest is wrong -…
THIS! People commonly complain about Jalopnik bashing GM, or being anti-Tesla, anti-gas, anti-EV, being biased against whatever, etc. I don’t think they are really any of those things. I just think there are a few writers (cough cough Raph, Erik, & sometimes Justin) that are negative, overly critical, and generally…
“I’m expecting Ford to make the EV F-150 as dull as possible and it will be a bust.”
By your logic then, every single person who has ever broken the speed limit has been involved in a street racing incident.
“If literally one thing goes wrong—if the team needs to call for help or a tow truck, if they get stopped, if they crash—literally anything goes wrong here and these guys would be pulling resources from an otherwise already overloaded system, not to mention potentially increasing the risk of contracting coronavirus by…
The Chinese goverment, emphasis on goverment here. Should be paying reparations to the rest of the world for this.
I had to go to the airport the other day. It was both a little scary and super awesome. Just about zero traffic, never had such an easy time dropping off
You got that right. Us Boomers tried to switch to metric in the 70's but we messed it all up (I try not to use the F word). That’s we have gallons of milk but 2 liters of soda. Metric is so much simpler.
Absolutely correct! Aaaaand absolutely never going to happen as things are. That anyone expects this of people in authority signifies that the general public does not understand how power, wealth, and government truly work.
Hi, I’m Jimmy from Jimmy’s Manure Delivery. All of our vehicles are Dodge Journeys, because they’re crap before we even load anything in them.
