I'm up on Hollywood history too being a huge Harold Lloyd fan (who more or less remade Safety Last as Feet First for the sound era.) But using your example of The Maltese Falcon….. how popular were the previous two versions before the Bogart one was made? I'm not being a dick, I really am curious. Hollywood has gotten

I don't think it's the all-female thing as much as it's a movie people really loved and a movie that's really good so remaking it makes very little sense. I think people are just getting sick of Hollywood remaking these movies that don't need to be remade.

that naked sketch was the furthest thing from subtle and understated.

yeah I agree. At this point we live in a world where they're remaking everything so no point in getting all worked up over it. The thing is, this just doesn't look funny. I do think Paul Feig is a talented guy and in the end this might be okay. But these trailers aren't doing this movie any favors.

I dunno they can take all the swipes at trump they want but because they had him
Host and essentially went out of their way when he was there to make him appealing (dad dances goofy sketch) these jokes just never seem to feel as vicious as they would otherwise. They dug the hole and have yet to get out in my mind.

why is this dude even in the cast? 90% of what he's done this season could've been done by an extra.

The Pete Davidson schtick is getting old. It's pretty clear SNL wants him to be the next Jimmy Fallon but can't seem to find any use for him other than, I guess, doing some of his stand-up on WU every couple of weeks.

Yeah it's true they do lack chemistry. I always love at the end of most WUs when Jost has to like lean over to engage with Che to suggest they're buds or something.

That could be said for 75% of everything on SNL.

I'm a little surprised Kimmel isn't beating Colbert beyond those young demos. Colbert just seems like a dead man talking.

Might wanna think twice about posting an article at midnight. As of 10am this article is full of errors. Take another pass dude.

The thing about Eddie returning to stand-up, which he's hinted at for years now and I doubt will ever happen, is I can't see Eddie sneaking into a club to try out material. And that's what it takes.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzz

You lost me at Kevin Smith

Hope there's a big climactic scene revolving around the Hula Burger

Joey & Dee Dee watching the Nasty Bits. I don't know what to think of that.
But it was nice to hear shout outs to Carol Miller and some other NYC DJs I remember listening to.

I don't think the audience was discomforted by the Cecily Strong character, I just don't think they got it.

My guess: whoever wrote it lives near it.

I like the character but didn't think this spot worked as good as the other times he's done it. I think it's cause Che kinda made him break at the end before he seemed ready to do his typical upbeat ending.

That's the title of the book about Kenney that I'm guessing they're using as source material for is film.
