You’re most welcome! I’ve always had a soft spot for that film, and had the distinct pleasure of seeing it at the San Francisco Alamo Drafthouse. It felt like being a kid again!

I’m sure you’ve heard that some of the principal creatives are trying to get a sequel made? There’s a sizzle reel with some terrific concept

I would imagine that whatever education they had was a very specific kind of sociopathy who’s credo is:

I’m hoping for two things:

As usual, the trailer goes on too long, but it’s nice to see Chalamet doing something light and fun. I hope it’s good!

I’m not a Swiftie, but I think everyone can agree that Ticketb@st@rd needs to be utterly destroyed, by any means necessary.

Ah, okay. So you’re saying that rewatches provide more clarity and understanding. That’s good to hear! Perhaps I’ll try them again someday.

I won’t think less of him for taking a role in one of the most prominent franchises. At least this time, he doesn’t have to wear a ton of makeup in the desert and then never be actually seen or heard in the final product.

The difference in is execution.  Of course, you’re not supposed to take F&F movies seriously as they’re pure camp.  The MI films are meant to be dramatically plausible, but I’ve found that the stories are too murky, which makes them hard to follow, so I lose my investment in the action when I don’t understand the

So you’re disappointed that Simon chose to be part of the franchise?

Go pick a fight somewhere else.

Incorrect. I responded to another person’s post about it because their opinions lined up with mine and I wanted them to know they’re not alone in their feelings. I did not reply to the original post.

It seems you created your account just to try and start a fight, but you don’t even have the courage to use your own

It doesn’t work for me, but I hope others will enjoy it.

Great idea, but very mediocre execution. 8-D

I don’t recall any of them clearly after the first.  How did they ruin Simon’s character?  Not that I’m surprised, but they all blur together into a larger blur.

I also don’t mind dumb action, but for me, that doesn’t work nearly as well when the rest of the movie is trying do hard to be serious and smart. I have a similar issue with the Fast & Furious franchise. I haven’t seen any of the films past Fast Five, but that one achieved the very difficult balance of a good heist

This has been my issue with all of the sequels.  I’ve seen them all except for the most recent one, and the problem with all of them has been nebulous plots that don’t unfold in a clear fashion such that I lost interest even in the amazing action because I don’t understand the motivations of the characters.  I saw

Agreed. I was DEEP into the hobby for about 20 years, but I bailed after the color change around 2001 and other merchandising and marketing decisions at the time which were disappointing. I recently got pulled back in by the Mandalorian sets, but the recent price increase has made shopping a painful experience
