If you watch the NFL films recap with interviews from the producers and coordinators of the show, they were worried about Prince and the rain. They called him earlier in the day and said “It’s supposed to rain, will you be OK?” And he responded “Can you make it rain harder?” He knew it would be special.

Their last 3 albums have been really good.

It’s too bad though – from a musical perspective their evolution is really interesting. Can’t think of too many other bands from that era (or any other, really) who went from spazzed out punk to acid-fried Americana to ZZ Top-worshipping rock.
