Don’t make a big deal out of it and be honest with your kids. I’ve let my kids see me have blood drawn, they were curious and inquisitive like most kids. They asked if it hurt, i said a little when it went in and it was fine after that and they just watched after that. One of them is fine with needles now, and the

Just tell them they get a donut after the doctor appt. :)

In this vein, I sometimes think I need to shop the way guys do: find a style of something — pants, shirts, whatever — and buy several colors of it. Because the hardest part of shopping for me finding stuff that fits my outlier body shape. Jeans shopping is THE WORST.

There are a crazy number of blogs out there for women’s clothes. Might want to search the archives at some place like Corporette. (And there are clothing blogs for just about every body type, price point, and style out there. Some are solely dedicated to capsule wardrobes.) If you were looking for just solid color t

From what I understand, you save money by avoiding impulse purchases. There’s less temptation to incorporate random new pieces to your wardrobe (like that random top you bought on sale but never wear) since you are going with a one-in, one-out mentality, and it needs to fit with your current pieces.

We would rather just have women’s t-shirts that are the same quality as men’s. This shouldn’t seem like too much to ask, but that is how the world works. Reduce the quality, pink it, shrink it, add five bucks, and presto, it’s a Woman’s Item.

Jennnanigans, I’m working on a work capsule, too. What helped me most was to start with the bottom half of my body, then work up. I have two really good pairs of black pants (summer weight and winter weight), a pair of khakis, and then (because I’m a skirt girl) five neutral pencil skirts, one bright pencil skirt, and

Helmut Lang, Vince, Joie and Equipment all make great, soft Ts that are always always at least half off at Nordstrom rack/off saks/ loehmanns etc (never pay retail, never). They last forever if you wash and dry them on a delicate cycle. If you want higher end try Kit and Ace for silk blends that are machine washable

I’ve got some tanks from Duluth Trading which fit the bill for me. I haven’t tried their Ts yet but the tanks are nicely weighted, nicely fitted, and nicely textured.

I’m going to sound like an old woman, but I’ve started buying my basic t-shirts at Land’s End. They do sell boxy ones, but there are also ones that are cut to a woman’s shape. The shirts wear like iron and don’t shrink in the dryer.

I get my t-shirts and tank tops from Everlane. They are primarily online and do great basics at not insane prices. They have a number of different styles, too...

I feel that. Gap used to have great ones (their “favorite” shirts)...made of cotton, kept their shape, weren’t see-through. They don’t make them anymore. :(

I really like Banana Republic t-shirts. Simple black/grey. Heavy but breathable.

I’m right there with you. Wayyy more boob than a men’s shirt can handle, but when I size up the tees are TOO big.

try lands’ end or eddie bauer. not fashiony but solid, presentable and hold up well.

I got interested in capsule wardrobes earlier in the year. After doing research, I found that it’s hard to pull them off if you work in an office, especially if you’re a woman. Or the parameters have to be expanded to include a lot more stuff.

All was cool with my friends with kids until the kids got old enough to have activities. Once that happened, my lack of little person to also partake in activities put me on the permanent backburner, the one that’s broken that you only use to hold that one dirty pot you don’t feel like washing.

Step 1:

I’m at the point where my friends are getting married and having kids. You will lose me as a friend if you and your wife force me to go to 20 different parties for your baby in a year. I will also refuse to “like” more than 1 facebook post of yours in a single week. Yeah, little Mason just saw his first full moon, he
