For-profit prisons should be illegal. The state should never be able to hand off responsibility for the incarceration and/or rehabilitation of those it convicts. It abrogates a huge amount of responsibility, creates a system where it behooves those in charge to push for more reasons to incarcerate, and in the long run

Now if Splinter could just hire some writers that know how journalism works, we’d be set!

Shocking that HamNo and Libby would have the dumbest possible take, that someone literally just out of high school and still very much wet behind the ears should be allowed to be elected President. Fuck it, why not let dogs be elected President too? They’re all good boys after all, right?

One of the writers here accidentally penning a self-own and tripping over their own dick? I am shocked. Shocked I say!

Good.

I want to agree, out of hope for humanity mostly, but how can we be sure that they wouldn’t be even more emboldened by a Trump not distracted by, you know, actually having to go through the motions of being President? He could be even worse than he is now if he was nursing a loss.

Splinter is good.

Since 2008, I have said that the future would reflect more kindly upon GWB than anyone would think. I expected it to take 50 years though, not 10.

Yeah, Trump’s support for the bill makes no sense. There’s no money in it for him, quite the opposite if any of his business dealings involve the prison industry. He clearly doesn’t give a shit about saving taxpayers money either.

I mean, not to put to fine a point on it, but people who commit violent crimes are different from people who commit nonviolent crimes. One is violent, the other is not. One presents a personal risk to the safety of society, the other does not. Someone in prison for felonious assault is definitely more dangerous than

Jason, you get 5 minutes in the penalty box for recommending what someone did to that poor 2002. That... thing, will not be collectible in its current condition. Also, you’re forgetting the number one rule: Never buy someone else’s project. Crack Pipe all day.

It’s kind of a pain, but if you go into the settings in RDR you can at least toggle it so you can’t hear anyone talking.

I was playing the other day and heard a bunch of people talking while one of them was also doing bong hits. Needless to say I got tired of that pretty quick and turned off the in-game voice chat completely.

I dunno, I kind of look at it like this: If I went to the Isle of Man for the yearly motorcycle race, and told everyone there that I was part Manx on my mother’s side generations back because I thought it was a cool throwaway fact given the circumstances, and they all bought me drinks, didn’t I really do it for some,

Eh, except saying you care about “all Americans” comes off very much, to me anyway, as take-adjacent to All Lives Matter. Like obviously, that’s true, but it’s about highlighting the particular issues the less fortunate have. She could’ve come off much better but instead completely muffed the whole thing and only

Counterpoint: Most public unions are bad (see: police unions), bad for taxpayers, and even sometimes bad for the people they’re supposed to represent. People should always be free to choose, and if unions want people to choose them to represent them, they have to show why that’s worth it. With how gormless and corrupt

If you think that seeking out alternative viewpoints and engaging with them equals trolling, then I truly feel sorry for you. The internet’s probably not the place for you then if you don’t ever want to engage with anyone who thinks differently.

So, you’re not wrong, and I’m not going to say that I don’t get some cathartic enjoyment out of mocking Trump and his brood, but I also don’t feel like it’s really productive either.

No, more the ones particularly about actual Native American issues. I believe I ripped into him pretty hard on that article. I guess it’s ironic that there’s still glaring examples of not good articles. :/

I was thinking more of his pieces before the Buster Scruggs one, but even that one, I can see his point, but I also haven’t watched that movie yet either, so I can’t say whether I necessarily agree with him or not.
