This man is a national hero. The Air Force should stop dicking around, sack up, and say nuts to punishing him for a load that’s been blown way out of proportion.

Alright, now here’s the $64,000 Question: How much is it going to cost? I would love to get into like the basest of base models with a manual, but not if it’s going to set me back over $40k, which it probably will, and I’m betting these will hold their value on the used market as well as any other Jeep.

As much as I would normally enjoy Bernie getting slammed for saying something dumb and/or unworkable, that isn’t what’s happening here. Which is more likely: That a non-zero number of migrants in that caravan do not have legitimate asylum claims, even under normal conditions, or that all of them do? They are fleeing

I think in this case, as much as I hate government spending our tax dollars on anything they don’t need to, I’d almost rather see our tax dollars go to directly feeding people temporarily affected by such a corporation going under than giving that badly run corporation billions, millions of which will go to golden

Your premise sounds good so long as it actually, you know, works. If the government bails them out and they end up going under anyway, later on, then ultimately it cost all of us more in the long run. What’s the other option? Continually bail out megacorps over and over?

GM never should have gotten bailed out. No private company should get bailed out. If they actually had to face the risks, they would have run their company better. But the fact that they were labeled as “too big to fail” for years gave them far too much leeway to let their company go sideways. There would have been

The data has nothing to do with the fact that she literally thinks people having more than one job makes the unemployment rate go down. Like, she said that in an interview. That’s not how they calculate unemployment. At all. I know she’s probably your girl and all, but when it comes to economics she’s actually dumb as

Yes, actually she is. Glad you agree!

But a carbon tax is just another tax scheme. And when companies buy and sell carbon credits, if that’s cheaper than just not polluting, they’ll do that. If we’re going to try to steer private industry in one direction or another, why not do it with positive reinforcement rather than negative?

Well specifically, this, for one:

Eh, rather than give companies money, I’d rather reduce their tax liability if they actually bring a successful product or service to market. That way there’s more incentive for them to gather investment capital and spend it wisely.

I’m not in front of my game right now to check, but I’m almost 99.9% sure there are items in the game that weigh less than .1 pounds, specifically some of the crafting items. This would seem to indicate that they’re trying to specifically limit the amount of bobby pins you carry.

The dumbest part of all of this is that there’s very real things Ocasio-Cortez deserves to be dunked on for. This is not one of them.

That last sentence reminds me of the oft-cited rumor that Trump had no intentions or belief that he would actually win the presidency, and that it was all to gin up interest and connections for him to start a media empire after he lost.

We did during the Obama administration. And you know what happened to that money? Pissed away by the companies that got it, who then promptly went belly up and vanished into the ether. Spending government money to pick winners and losers is always a bad idea.

Your argument eroded the moment you started talking about the government swooping in to save business that make bad choices. That’s not capitalism. It’s corporate cronyism. In a more capitalist society, there would be no bailouts for businesses, no safety nets for bad investments. Businesses would then have to make

Seeing as how current crop of maybe-running on the Democrat side is looking, with the looming proposition that Hillary Clinton will indeed run again and fuck everything up for everyone, Splinter should be praying to whatever gods they believe in that Kasich primaries Trump and forces him to devote his attention

Whereas in a socialized healthcare country, she might not get the transplant because healthcare is a finite resource, transplantable hearts even more so, and someone who is a better candidate would get it instead.

I don’t necessarily disagree with that either, though I suppose it depends on what would be involved in “fixing” the situations in their home countries. Leaving them alone? Sure. Military intervention? Think we’ve had enough of that this century. The details are likely somewhere between the two.

Well, generally speaking, if your culture regularly tolerates such things such as child marriage, stoning women to death, female genital mutilation, throwing gays off rooftops, those are all things that are gonna have to go. This is not meant to be an exhaustive list, I’m sure there’s other things I’m overlooking.
