Good concept, bad execution like many. This is trying to take something like Zipcar and make it more of this is your car to fart in, not jump into a random puff of fart. Yes, I am like a 14 year old when it comes to farts, get over it. :)

I would own of one of these if money and room were no object. Also seems like a nice tasteful upgrade project.
As a jumping point I would look at it. Cheap way to determine if you want projects and learn to search a boneyard.

Being covered in oil (has to be right) should be ready for a quick fry up. If not, easy to swallow.
It really depends for me. If it is not impacting me and not a long trip, I just leave it on. Once I hit 15 to 30 minutes+, I take it off.
