Also there are edge cases like when someone’s work for one game gets used for a future game. If I write a bit of code for a game, and then quit, should I be credited for all future games that use that code? I may not have worked on that specific game, but my work has still contributed to it.

Maybe an archaic British English word. I don’t think I’ve ever heard the word before. Except maybe in something that’s trying to sound old-timey (or actually is old-timey).

I don’t think Dontnod has any particular association with Square Enix any more. They didn’t develop the latest Life is Strange.

I know that’s what it’s supposed to be, but it still gives the impression the game will change significantly post-launch. I’d like to get the full experience the first time I play it.

I think I’m going to wait a while before buying this. If the basic version is called the “Launch Edition”, I’m taking that to mean it’s worth waiting until the game is finished before buying it instead of playing the inferior “Launch” version.

That makes sense, but it’s still weird that the NHS would be a sponsor, considering it’s a publicly funded healthcare organisation, not a for-profit corporation.

I only have on physical PS5 game, which is Spiderman Miles Morales which I got with the console.

I’m a little confused about what appears to be the logo of the British National Health Service on the side of a gun.

I was working on yet another “All-Stars” game when Playstation All-Stars was announced. We ended up renaming it. It also didn’t help that this game was in the same genre as one of those games.

By the sounds of it, to patch it into existing games they’d have to upgrade the SDK. Which is something most developers won’t be keen to do because of the risk it will break things.

It is really baffling isn’t it?

Yeah, it doesn’t happen immediately. I had a bunch of trophies pop on the PS5 version when I completed a quest. It seems to be if you do a related activity it will unlock the trophy. But for the raid related trophies you just have to do them again.

The PS3 version shared trophies with the PS4 version, so they’re still accessible. But the PS5 version has a new trophy set.

That’s probably true of several of these. I guess it’s a “Netflix Original” in the US because they bought the exclusive rights for that territory. Like how Star Trek Discovery is a Netflix original in the UK, but it’s on CBS in the US.

Sumo has made a ton of great games, but they are generally “developers for hire”, working on games commissioned by big publishers. For example they’ve worked on several Little Big Planet games for Sony (most recently Sackboy: A Big Adventure).

To be fair, they also said that if it ever happens it must be after FF7 Remake is completely finished.

Followed by The Dark Light and then The Dark Light Rises.

Sometimes I wish developers made challenges more accessible. Not necessarily by making them easier (although that’s fine too), but by making them less time consuming.

It happened to my Steam account way back when. Valve disabled my account, so I lost access to all the games on it. Apparently someone had hacked into my account and used it to do something they shouldn’t have and Steam support just didn’t want to believe I was the victim.

Not many though. Returnal and Ratchet and Clank. Are there any others? Godfall was one, but a PS4 version has been announced now.
