Yeah that’s true. Really the difference is that Microsoft has formally announced their games further in advance.

Interesting that Xbox has more next gen exclusive games upcoming than PlayStation. It’s the opposite to what it was a few months ago. Admittedly some of the Xbox ones are probably very far off.

Uhhh okay, wait, my reading of the PSP shutdown was that you could still buy PSP games for PS Vita.

It’s likely a non-native speaker doesn’t understand the nuances of the word “fuck” though. It can mean so many different things, often in contradictory ways.

Yeah, Ubisoft has their own cross-platform cloud save system. I’m sure it will become more common, but I’m not sure it will become the norm for every game. It’s a complicated thing to develop and maintain. Big publishers might do it, especially when many of their games are service based, but I don’t think many smaller,

Ok, but how? And if they could do it like that, how come other devs couldn’t?

That might be because trophies on PS5 support progress updates. You can see how many X out of Y things you’ve done for a trophy (if the developers have implemented it). So the only way it could share trophies with the PS4 version is to either disable that, or Sony adds the same feature to the PS4 trophy system.

I think Sony has already improved things, given that Jedi Fallen Order can import saves without you having to upload them from the PS4 version. So hopefully other games will be able to do it the same way.

Have you been playing the PS4 or PS5 version of Miles Morales? If you’ve already been playing the PS5 version then there should be no issue transferring your save to a different PS5 console. Copying saves between consoles works fine, the issue is with transferring saves between different versions of a game.

I think it is on Sony. It works seamlessly on all cross-gen games on Xbox because Microsoft made a framework to allow it to happen. Sony didn’t.

The point is that if you decide you don’t want what’s in the pack, you could just buy it anyway so you can preview another one. Otherwise you have to wait until they reset. So effectively you can pay for more previews.

Sounds pretty similar to how it works for FF7R then (minus a slightly less seamless interface). Strictly speaking you don’t need both versions on the same machine because you could upload your save from a PS4 and download it onto a PS5. It’s just this time round that is an option.

The fact that it looks like a cute real cat is why I find it creepy.

I’d rather have the knock off. The real one looks creepy, like you’ve actually killed a cat, had it stuffed and you’re wearing it’s corpse as a trophy.

I could play them on PC, but that’s not my preferred gaming platform. I’d much prefer to play them on a handheld device.

WTF, Square? Why do you despise porting your RPGs to Switch?

No, but bear in mind the only thing the PS5 deluxe edition adds is a new artbook and soundtrack. The summon DLCs that came with the PS4 deluxe edition are free for everyone on the PS5 version. So for the game itself there is no difference.

I don’t think installing the disc version is strictly necessary. Just uninstall the PS+ version, and insert the disc. You should be able to cancel the install, and then claim the PS5 version

Cross-generation and cross-platform saves worked nearly seamlessly on PS3, PS4 and Vita. They used the same saves across all three platforms.

That’s how all free upgrades work though. So it’s not just a Square thing.
