Hah, just recently #2 (at 2yo) started sleeping all the way through the night. So long as I don’t have to pee - I am getting about 6ish hours. But I only work part-time, and right now I am in dissertation phase so it’s more writing than course/homework time. It will be really weird to adjust once I am all done.

They eat more than you might think - also they throw food to the dogs that the dogs don’t need. Haha! But yeah, it’s not cheap.

I’m pretty proactive about being frugal - I shop at thrift shops a season ahead for gently worn clothes, or find other mommas to trade with. Also, we live near extended family so birthday…

Hi Kirstin - I’m Kristin. :) I was looking at the monthly amount of $1460 per 1 kid in the article. Comparatively for two kids, our full-time rate here in Iowa at a center is $2160 per month.

Yuppies are defined as having affluent lifestyles and trying to buy the best of everything. My kids go to a standard daycare and as a result of paying for that, we eat rice and hotdogs. Not the same at all.

Well, since yuppies are defined as being associated with urban areas, I’m pretty safe here in Iowa where the entire state - including the cities - is basically rural.

I live in the midwest - which is decidedly not LA - and was also impressed by the price tag. Which is pretty close to what I pay here for 1 kid, except that we have two so - we pay BIG MONEY.

Correct! I only know this because the kids wore out the DVD. Olaf also falls off the cliff. I just realized now that it is not clear how Sven gets down there to the bottom. He’s with them, then he’s not when they fall, and then he reappears afterwards. Clearly, he is the smartest. LoL
