It’s still not the “de facto standard”. Most people -gamers included- don’t care about 4k. Most people don’t have 4k televisions (and most who do only do because they didn’t have other options when they bought their television). Many people can’t tell the difference between 1080p and 4k. Yeah, I’ve been using the same USB/Ethernet adapter I got in 2006 for my Wii (and it was like $10 then too).

I literally cannot see the difference between 1080p and 4K, so Nintendo continues to be the best company to me for not making me pay for capabilities I don’t need like Sony and Microsoft are.

If there was a performance boost that would have been bullet point one in the video. There is no performance upgrades. Just a screen. Its a minor update revision just like they have been doing with handhelds for generations.

What’s the point when most people don’t actually use 4K to begin with? Sure, the hardest of hardcore gamers do, but the vast majority of the 80 million people who own a Switch have not watched nor played anything in 4K.

My favorite part of the trailer is when the guy walks into his house implying he’s gonna put it on his dock to show off a new feature there...then he just sits in his hallway instead and plays handheld mode.

You can also add an ethernet port to the existing dock by buying a $10 dongle.

I knew it. If they go 4k it will be a completely new system.
