It’s almost like the writer for that event was the creative talent behind the aforementioned Kick-Ass.

I remember virtually nothing about Apocalypse, and I tried to rewatch it but gave up after a half hour. Utterly forgettable.
Other than “Don’t Trust the B in Apt 23,” where he plays a very un-Eric Andre roll, this was the bit that hooked me into his show. But it’s not so characteristic of a VERY dark show. It benefits…
I’m about 20 hours into Act 2 of Divinity: Original Sin 2, and starting to feel bogged down. Does anyone know if it picks up? It just seems to be side quest after side quest, with each side quest featuring a 40 minute fight. Hard to get through a game that takes up almost all my designated gaming time to win one…
The first Hornet fight is basically the bar for “can I play this game.” Once you beat her, you can do just about anything. Further bosses take a LOT more tries, but the game really rewards patience.
It’s worth getting the switch for Hollow Knight alone.
Remember - a full playthrough of Nier ends at ending E, not ending A. It takes about 25-60 hours, depending on how many sidequests you want to do, pods you want to pick up, leveling, etc. The secret ending Y takes AGES to do, but is absolutely unnecessary for the…
You can finish the game just fine barely paying attention to the chip loadout, but if you get into the nitty gritty of it, you can definitely do some fun things that match a style (heavy damage/healing, taunting, and my favorite - witch time dodging). Totally unnecessary if you don’t want to bother, though.
Bi-Hercules and trans-Loki now.
I will not hear a disparaging word against Drop Dead Gorgeous.
More Divinity Original Sin 2 for me. Stuck at one fight in Chapter 2, and starting to get irritated. May start Bloodborne since it’s on everyone’s lips and it’s been sitting in my library for 4 or 5 months. But possibly not so great to go from frustrating game to frustrating game.
I am so excited for you to go in Nier for the first time. Ignore any comments about having to play the game 3 times. You play the game once. The game is over at Ending E. That is one playthrough of the game.
Enjoy the music, pathos, bathos, and butts!
Interesting that the comments are also focusing on HZD, which is having its second anniversary as well. I just listened to the Cane and Rinse podcast discussion of Nier:Automata, which came out two years ago as well, and THAT’S the game I think I’m going to load up tonight. Just sitting around fishing, maybe going to…
He’s a comedy genius. I still think the best is his Future end song for Infinity War:
Unfortunately, that would probably cost millions if not tens of millions in budget/lost revenue, and they count on large numbers of people buying the game immediately to then pay forward to do the updates to make the game run correctly. This will not change until people stop pre-ordering games.
I think the issue is that because they saw that Destiny 2 had so many day-one buyers, even after people knew that it took Destiny 1 quite a while to become a well-liked game, and even after Destiny 2 took a number of months to get to that point itself, Bioware gambled that it would have enough day-one buyers to…
Excellent article. I find, personally, as I get older, if there is some topic - ESPECIALLY related to race/gender/politics, if I feel defensive about something, I take that as a cue to stop and really listen to what other people are saying. It’s a very difficult thing to do, especially for people who come from a place…
Amil should have had a better career.
Well, also his record label caved right about 2004, got dropped by Def Jam, and was investigated for drug money laundering. I think that might have had something to do with it as well.
I would say his entire demeanor throughout the show indicates that he has significant PTSD. As evidenced by the exchange in the last episode where Hoyt asks him if he saw action, and his response was something to the effect of “Yes. A lot of action.”
I took it to read that his whole life afterwards was evidence enough that he never really left Vietnam, in his mind.
NYC is the exact same way - empty condos springing up everywhere to be scooped up and sat on as investments, 2 months free rent with the expectation that it will be doubled after the lease is up, etc. It will be fun to see what happens when the market collapses and people are left holding $10 million, 700 sq ft condos…
