Having spent time in EMS, I can guarantee you that fire department and EMS workers really do generally conflate themselves with police, and all of them conflate themselves with the military. For people who treat gun wounds, EMS are extremely pro-gun. Also, FD and EMS are racist as fuck. I quit after 2 years.
