@monkeyboy: You couldn't even put a leatherman or a bicycle tool into one of them.

@jackhab: You have it backwards. Google makes their web apps incompatible with anything but firefox and chrome.
@itsmoirob: The problem with gmail is that Google is rudely excluding browsers that follow HTML, Java and Javascript standards.
Is it a right-click shell extension in Windoze Explorer? If not, then what's the point? That's where most people do their copying and moving.
The thing that pisses me off about netbooks is the attitude of companies towards the software: they are charging money for both Linux and windoze, and they give no option for people who want to buy one without software.
@wewillchange: You don't see the point because you don't have a use for one. Why do you arrogantly assume that no one else has a need?
@JuniorAndTorrie: How about people (not you specifically) stop eating or drink around the computer to avoid the problem in the first place? I wash my hands (or at least, keep them clean) before using and don't eat around the thing, so my keyboards last for years.
The question is, why wouldn't people be keeping their data on external or secondary drives? That's especially important given the near-impossibility of recovering data from NTFS drives that get screwed up.
@gapo: As I mentioned on page three, try Text Maker 2006 and Plan Maker 2006. That version is freeware (later versions are commercia) and they can handle nearly all the same formats and features that Word and Excel use. It's also much lighter and smaller than Open Office and runs better than OO on a Flash RAM device.…
My preferred freeware programs for productivity on the go are:
@silver-bolt: I've seen those and none of them work in DOS. It's always windows or linux, nothing else.
I've looked at single board computers (SBCs) and mini-ITXs, even those that are based on older hardware (386, 486) and they ALL have one thing in common:
The only reason to buy that thing is because your USB ports are exposed and the port or devices in them might get hit, i.e. having your tower on the floor and the USB ports are on the front.
Whenever I see someone named Trapani, I keep thinking of the word trephination.
@tok3n ninja; found and killed Waldo: By your feeble "reasoning", the FDA hates Cheerios.
@iamkmac: So desu ka?
Why are they being called "new features" instead of what they are: imitations of Opera's long existing features?
I haven't tested the program in question, though I will.
If you plan to buy lots of souvenirs, send your non-essential and non-travel clothes (or maybe stuff like snorkel gear)/i> back in a box by surface mail. It may take two months to get them, but it will cost less than an extra checked bag, and it makes room for the souvenirs.
While my mainly used OS may change (I'm still on 2K), I will always keep DOS on the primary partition of a dual boot system to protect myself. I only switched to 2K in 2006 because there was hardware I couldn't use, otherwise I would have stayed with Lose98.
