Why is it that businesses love "voodoo economics" in taxation, but then hypocritically refuse to practice it themselves?

There are commercial USB rechargers that operate by cranking a handle, and they cost a hell of a lot less.

Those at my workplace are technically inept and use Infernal Exploder 6, not knowing any better.

@superFLYguyO: Opera innovates, Microshaft imitates. Scratch that - Microshaft and Firefox imitate.

@Al Iguana: The mediocrity of FF and IE is fine for mediocre people like yourself.

Related to the pro-copyright issue, here's a cheer for Billy Bragg ("Levi Stubbs' Tears") for speaking out on the idiocy of a 95 year copyright law. Bragg is making a mistake by backing the extension to 95 years, but if opposing the EU law makes companies think twice and prevents it from being enacted, that's good

Steve Jobs said what he didn't like about Microshaft was that, "They have no taste". "Comic" fonts are just plain ugly and are only suited for printed jokes.

What? Nobody ever heard of Screen Thief for Windows?

In the early days of using email (circa 1993, in younger days in my own life), I responded to a spam advertising email with a string of profanities and suggestions of suicide for the spammer. I had no experience with spam at the time and it was not yet a widespread problem.

@P_Smith: Whoops, a slight amendment to the links.

@califrag: If you've not seen it already, have you tried Basic Linux? It's made for 486 PCs and you run it from a DOS directory (thus you could use FreeDOS).

I don't care how "cool" they think their "organizational system" is, folders work. Their system is a mess.

For the more inept, many stores sell pre-made frozen pizza crusts, though they tend to taste like cardboard.

Better idea: go out with a fixed amount of cash and no ATM or credit card. Have enough to do what you need to and enough for an emergency cab ride home, then no more than that.

@The Amazing Ant: What less knowledgeable people don't realize about encrypted passwords is that the encrypted form looks nothing like the original, nor are passwords a one-to-one cypher.

What's needed are folders for those who want it.

@goodywitch: Why do you make the arrogant and ignorant assumption that everyone uses firefox?

This was a popularity contest, not a comparison of capability.

@adjohnson916: I've written to youtube and made comment on it a couple of times (with different emails, to boot) and gotten no response.
