The safest solution for me is putting all employer-owned data on their systems, then "zero out" the hard drive multiple times. For those who don't know or don't remember, it means changing every single bit on the computer to 1 or 0. It makes recovering what was on the computer nearly impossible.

What would be useful is allowing people to use the @ sign in searches. If you include it, google ignores it. These two phrases produce the exact same results:

1) Playing cards and board games. You can play solitaire or Risk on a computer to kill time, but you can't socialize with friends around a computer. I don' t care what any "World of Warcraft" fan says.

For those looking for non-Microshaft office suites and not Google or Open Office, there are IBM Lotus Symphony and Softmaker Office. Both are compatible with Microshaft and Open Office file formats, and both are free to use.

@dlaciv12: Microshaft weren't the first, either. ClarisWorks beat Microshaft (Doesn't) Works to the market back in 1987. Microshaft only won the battle of the market because Windoze 3.0 could do other things like Solitair and Othello; Claris Works was only made for productivity.

@punga: Or you're left without access when you desperately need the documents because an internet connection doesn't work or isn't available.

@fullerenedream: Yet another Exception Nazi (similar to Grammar Nazi) "thinks" he can say something smart.

One of the reasons for buying a paperback instead of a hardcover is to reduce weight. Why add the weight of a hard cover if that's why you're doing it?

@oopsmyeye: On a slightly related note, am I the only one who prefers to put in contacts with wet hands, rather than drying after washing them?

Am I to understand these people won't leave the house without their phone, but they will go out with no shoes or socks on their feet?

Why is asking for fries without salt such an ordeal? There's enough salt in ketchup without having any dumped on the fries, TYVM. Let people ask for salt packets if the want them. Some people just don't like salt, the same way some don't like mayonnaise or cheese on a burger.

@Sunshine1970: They're not hard to find if you look. This reply took longer than the search.

@emag: I respectfully disagree. ^_^

I echo emag's comments. Usenet is really the only true place for free speech on the internet, with only criminal speech being limited. (You actually can say and incite criminal things without censorship, but at your own risk - and stupidity.)

"Cat purr" at 75% is purr-fect by itself.

Here's a useful site I found: Shorttext.

If you have a backpack, keep your hands on the shoulder straps, elbows at waist level and forearms forward.

No thanks. I'll stick with Word Web, which is free and produced by Princeton University.
