I think front squats aren’t as popular because of the grip. You either have to do the clean grip which requires flexible wrists, or the cross-arm grip which balances the bar on your shoulders. (I did see someone try to do front squats while holding the bar as if she were at the top of a curl, which did not work.)

Back squats are great, but they’re not the end-all-and-be-all. Try front squats. Or goblet squats with a dumbbell. There are many variations of squatting that will hit the muscles you need without hurting your neck.

It’s very close to where the old circuit used to be. And right by my office, which also gets shut down by Ultra every year.

It was! Sounds like you’re from Miami, so: the old course went south on Biscayne above from Bayside, turning left into Bayfront park in front of the Intercontinental. My office looked north, basically straight up Biscayne. We saw the cars come flying down Biscayne and break hard for the turn. It was crazy watching

When they had the Miami Grand Prix downtown, it was right outside my office (our floor was in the high teens in the Intercontinental/Miami Center). I brought my kids in and we watched the race from there; it was amazing. But we moved offices and the new ones are too high for good viewing.
