But that is exactly it; it is only the clothes that women exclusively wear which are (for the most part) actively policed. Miniskirts, leggings, lycra dresses, etc. But mostly I just think that it is ridiculous to prohibit children from wearing standard children’s outfits.

Occasionally when I’m flying non-rev (mostly on smaller planes/flights) a crew member will pop back and chat up the non-rev—basically just asking who you’re related to/what regional airline you work for, etc.—because they know which seat you’re in. But other than that, no. And even that doesn’t happen very often.

For years I flew as a pass rider, and I had to follow strict dress and behavioral codes when I did. As many have mentioned, this is standard policy, and the gate agent shouldn’t be singled out for staying on-script.

*appalling

So it isn’t the gate agent, but the policy that’s blatantly sexist.

How does dressing 10 year olds in business casual make you want to buy a ticket? Specifically?

Leggings are the way, the truth, and the light.

Can you answer how other passengers would know these girls were flying on a pass?

In reading the dress code that another commenter posted, it seems to give far more latitude to the men: shorts are allowed if they are no more than three inches above the knee — but no miniskirts at all. No spandex pants or dresses (hence the leggings issue) seems to be aimed at the women (I don’t recall too many men

Since the issue for United is the employee dress code for people flying on employee passes, I wouldn’t be mad if they’d made the dad change too. They have every right to require that people who work for them meet a certain level of formality when redeeming a benefit.

How is it any skin off your ass if some employees’ kid was wearing leggings. The policy is outdated and wrong and needs to be changed irregardless of whose kid it was applied to.

I can’t get over how Hannity keeps talking and interrupting as Koppel tries to explain. He’s ruder even as he tries to be gracious.

He wouldn’t pay them. Shit! He doesn’t pay his contractors, which still baffles me that any blue-collar person could know that and vote for him.

I’m the asshole who asks everybody when they get a headache if they’ve had enough water. But like, 50% of the time I am right! (And with that realization they drink water.)

Are you sure it’s not the caffeine making you anxious? If I have too much caffeine on an empty stomach I get the same way.

I skip right over feeling thirsty to having a massive fucking headache!

Could a person put vodka in that bottle and make infused vodka? Asking for a friend.

Literally the second I get slightly dehydrated my entire body revolts- headaches, nausea, general crankiness.

Clearly not a child here. But I am a child of the 1980s and spent hot summers in band practice, drinking only soda. We were not encouraged to drink water, even after hours under the Texas sun. Ten years after HS graduation—BOOM, gnarly kidney stone. The urologist who treated me said it was likely from not getting
