I hadn't heard of Sunday in the Park with George in too much detail when I saw my university library had it
on VHS. I was already a fan of Sondheim - Sweeney Todd, Company,
Assassins and A Little Night Music existed in fairly heavy rotation. So
I sat down and watched it on a rinky dink 13 inch television.

I'd rate it way ahead of Breaking Bad, on par with The Sopranos.

And this comment now means I have to watch Woyzeck.

Past hope
Past kindness or consideration
Past justice
Past satisifaction
Past warmth or cold or comfort
Past love
Past surprise
What an endlessly unfolding tedium life would then become. No Doris.
We must not let you be past surprise

Alessandra Stanley wrote a misguided piece about television? It's what she does.

That will be interesting. It was a strong book.

I'm beginning to see that this show might become good or even great, but now it's just solid. Great scenery, beautiful music, solid performances…. I'll watch for the sensational chemistry between Heughan and Balfe and the McReary score.

And she was the one who insisted! It was at the local college in a special revival screening, but she had no idea what it was about and I couldn't persuade her not to go without entering into a discussion about why I wanted to see it.

As a fourteen year old, I saw A Clockwork Orange with my mother.

Yeah, Zack fourth bums me out. But oh well. Ricky deserved to win.

Yes. It's not my favourite of his (Ghostwritten, Cloud Atlas and Thousand Autumns have that battle) but it's a minor gem.

Very impressive. I look forward to the book.

I liked both Imaginarium and Tideland. Can't wait for Zero Theorem.

Ricky and Zack were my top two guys, so I'm quite happy they made the finale. I loved Zack's focus and hardness in the hip-hop routine, actually (and I find Fik-Shun's mugging kind of irritating).

Anya actually didn't make the top ten her season, though.

As someone who's also a Booker enthusiast (I own all of the winners and am rather absurdly proud of that), I kinda like that they spread the wealth a little bit. Though I just bought both the Fowler and Tartt and have read neither.

The extent to which I love that Killers lyric is sorta silly.

The rights situation to that one is very complicated, though.

Shrug. We'll have to agree to disagree on this one.
