True that.  But I’m doing a Booker Prize project (trying to read all the shortlists) and I did want to revisit it already.

Honestly, I was a little surprised at how acclaimed it was after I read it. I’ll give it another chance, but I was very “meh” on it.

Kings is worthwhile, but definitely a show that didn’t get enough time to flex its muscles.

I like the book a fair bit, but I’m not sure if I see Kauffman doing it justice.

It starts to lose its welcome around the Moulin Rouge riff, but I basically enjoyed it.

The ending made me cry. A lot.

And Ponyo was released in the USA

“Let’s Take a Glass Together” from Grand Hotel, featuring Michael Jeter, is probably my favourite.

Eh, when Newman lost in 1981, it was to Chariots of Fire, which is a pretty phenomenal movie and score.

I love Sports Night.  I can’t hate Aaron Sorkin as much as his later works need me to because of that and only that.

Yeah, after Mitch and Cam got married, the show went downhill. But there are other shows I gave up on when they went on their slide to mediocrity whereas I never did with this one. I basically enjoyed the last half of the series as a watchable but mediocre one. In that sense, the series finale is a solid one.

I bought the family relationship way more than you did and I think that’s the crux of the difference. I never found the characters obnoxious (or, more accurately, off-puttingly obnoxious.) I find the family scenes to be very heartfelt (the translation scene in particular is a gem). I think the fact that the film is a

Honestly, if you were to ask the writers of the show how old she was, you’d get a range.

I thought they would, to be honest.

I loved it. It felt like the final story in the Julian Barnes book “A History of the World in 10 1/2 Chapters” with it’s concept of heaven and the afterlife and I’m basically super primed by that idea. This episode felt made for me.

What Loopychoo said.  And it’s not as if everything I own is available for streaming and/or will be available in perpetuity.

I really like Jude Law and did so then, but I’ve gotta imagine part of that was that the films he lead that year (Alfie, Sky Captain) didn’t do that well whereas the films he had smaller roles in (The Aviator, Lemony Snicket) did superbly. The films that did about as well as could be expected (I Heart Huckabees,

I love Snowpiercer, but I don’t care for Swinton in it.  I think something might be wrong with me.

I basically enjoy the show, but man has it gone stale.  The curse of all long-running shows, to be fair, but still.  It has enough chuckle moments to make the 20 minutes breeze by.  The character inconsistencies drive me crazy though.  That’s just lazy (see Lily being dumb).

Yeah, it’s basically the easiest show I enjoy.
