If The Good Place sticks the landing, I’ll need it to win next season, so Fleabag it is for me. Russian Doll would be great too.

It didn’t.
While I was also disappointed by It Comes at Night (so, so rote), that Variety review was staggeringly positive.
Still catching up/diving in the series, but I will say that the final storytelling beats of “White Bear” absolutely macheted my brain in a way that I haven’t quite forgiven even though I’ve revisited it.
Nope. I get that remaking all of the Disney canon basically allows them to hold onto the rights for longer, and goodness knows that Alice in Wonderland and Beauty and the Beast made a metric fuck-tonne of money, but youch. I’m really not loving this “live action” remakes.
Jaye Davidson. Also that’s awesome/
Really intriguing and well written review. I have to admit I’m so far behind on the Marvel Cinematic Universe (further behind than Mike D’Angelo was pre-BP catch-up) that I doubt I’m gonna enter into it, but this review kinda makes me want to.

What is reverse racism and how does it differ from racism?
I legit thought this was a joke when I saw a tweet about it and only now I realize it’s not.
The tone of CMBYN is definitely more nostalgically romantic. The age difference, as depicted, didn’t bug me for reasons Beatrix Kiddo 9000 elucidates (though I disagree that Elio is wise beyond his years. He’s very intelligent and interesting, but Chalamet plays up just how young he is, to beautiful effect). In Diary…
I’ll echo what Rowan says. If you get to the fourth episode and still think so, it’s not for you.
Yeah, this movie is pretty much pitch perfect. The “Gary” meets “Celeste” scene should be studied by screenwriters and editors alike.
He definitely made the right choice. “Gary Meets Celeste” should be studied by every person interested in film editing.
I went to see Touching the Void with a few friends (mountaineering documentary) and basically coffee afterwards was us deciding exactly when we would have given up and died.
That really was an interesting roundtable.
That’s how I feel about all Nolan movies (just that they would be better miniseries).
Thank you for your post.
