Before this thread/article, I wasn't aware that "thinspiration" was in fact used by anorexics to reinforce anorexia and indeed, I'd be genuinely surprised if he actually meant to make light of eating disorders (I say this not knowing who he was before this thread either, so I probably should shut up).

We really need to re-examine our societies condemnation of anonymous death threats

The number of things that are generally disappointing about this story is mindboggling.

I hope Poland lies.

Pretty much, though as you said downstream, their are good reasons for the term.

Ruth Harris' work: "Dreyfus: Politics, Emotion and the Scandal of the Century."

"And a futile thing, too. Futile. All futile. What dreams I had of my mate. Of another being looking into these eyes, upon this face, and recoiling not. But how could that happen? For the monster's not in my face, but in my soul. I once thought that if I was like other men that I would be happy. And loved. …

Yeah, if the entire appeal of Lost was the mysteries, than I definitely understand why you would hate the ending. But for me it was sci-fi as done by Kieslowski and I loved it.

Yeah, that was beautiful. A terrific run of episodes that ended with a suitably terrific episode.

I'm really liking this show a great deal, but it still does feel like less than the sum of its parts. But each part is so superlative that even that statement doesn't feel like a knock and some aspects seem underrated (I think Carney's playing his role exactly right; Treadaway is equally good too).

I don't care too much for The Tarnished Angels. A Time to Love and a Time to Die probably works better knowing just how close to the director's life it came, which rather devastates me; a love letter to his lost son.

I'm glad to see a mention for There's Always Tomorrow, but the one I'd throw out there for the unconvinced is A Time to Love and a Time to Die. Perhaps his most heartbreaking movie.

I think Martin might have, actually.

I don't think this song would make my top ten Clash songs, but all that means is that they were fucking awesome.

Having a favourite Clash song is too hard, but if you had a gun to my head, I'd pick "Lost in the Supermarket."

Prentiss. For 1964, he goes for Strangelove/Sellers in the other categories.

I loved the title. Still haven't seen the show, though.

If it's any consolation, I abandoned Mad Men halfway through the first season.

"Nurture prevails…."

I realize that might sound sarcastic, but it isn't. It's called The Last Ship and it'll be playing in Chicago in two weeks before a September bow in New York.
