In this case there are reportedly hundreds of documents never read out. Despite this lasting three weeks and courting serious controversy in how court time for actual cases in Britain has been taken away by this egofest the judge frequently had to raise the lack of time because of the various pettiness that isn’t

There was an interesting article in the Guardian about this fiasco at the weekend that included the following:

I have two kids who are with me every other week. We have meals that we do every week and some we do less frequently. Some we do once a month and some even less frequently. Every so often we’ll do a one off that’s much more detailed and elaborate just to keep things interesting from a cooking and eating perspective.

Sorry I got tired of feeling ripped off paying 14 bucks to see a shitty 90 minute comedy or worse, going to see a 2 hour blockbuster in an auditorium filled with people with no common civility.

They’ve done away with the theatrical release requirement for this year, and also they’ve also moved back the eligibility deadline to the end of February. The ceremony will be in late April.

Add in if you have any kind of disability, movie theaters are nightmares.

For better or for worse, the movie-going experience as we remember it was already on shaky ground before COVID. For a long time movies offered the superior viewing experience, but that’s not so much the case anymore. TV technology has advanced to the point where the drawbacks of the movie-going experience have begun

To each their own, and I know some people love the theaters, but I never went before and I can’t imagine I would again. I’ve got a big (ish) TV at home with good speakers. I can rent a new release for $5 and watch it right there, with much cheaper refreshments, much comfier seating and with the freedom to pause it and

They’ve already killed that mandate, at least temporarily.  Now anything that was intended for theatrical release before corona hit is eligible even if it never gets shown in a theater at all.

Every take in this is a bad take.

Dead format that expends massive amounts of $$$ to force fit any story into a too-short/long 2-ish hour time limit; either dragging on or sacrificing character/narrative complexity.

Those goddamn cell phones will never stop ringing, and people will never stop talking. And theater seats are filthy and the floor is sticky. Worrying about catching COVID is just another problem. When drive-in theaters come back in vogue, people will wonder why they ever tolerated the annoyances of indoor theaters.

Until people will STFU and turn off cell phones and not use their cell phones, I will not be going to a movie theater.

Their “theatrical release” mandate is such a load of garbage and it will cost them this year.

I was saying to a friend today how are they going to come up with 10 films for the Oscars?

Yes, their logic is always the best logic, as far as they are concerned.

This is the ultimate in astrology

PSA: If you want to avoid contributing to the Scorpio problem, be extra conscientious about your birth control on and around Valentine’s Day.

But we can’t close the country! it will hurt the economy!
