This is one of those areas though that I think should be changed even if you’re a private lender—certain business practices (such as inflated interest rates) should be illegal. It can differ based on the kind of loan of course—personal loans are not the same area as a student loan—but more regulation is necessary. But…
Totally agree about keeping them even with prime mortgage loan rates. This is exactly where the government needs to step in and regulate. Young adults need protection from their inexperience. Student loans should legally be no higher than 4% (and even that is higher than our mortgage rate).
Recently, my chair broke while I was in a Zoom meeting and I went crashing into my computer stand, so I sympathize.
As a teacher, I don’t know. My only rule is: one student at a time. (They absolutely will socialize and lose track of time otherwise.) But I also tell them that if it’s an emergency then they should just run out of the room, no explanation needed.
If you’re an herbal tea person, read your warning labels! You’ll be surprised and intrigued to see how many teas are labeled as not suitable for pregnant women, and most of them have the herbs that are cousins of the abortificants mentioned here. Also, pregnant women are still told to avoid saunas, hot tubs, and warm…
I paid back my loans because they were small but come on. The interest rate on student loans is “pretty much like stealing.” A $20,000 loan ballooned to closer to a $30,000 loan in 4 years because with the 2008 crisis I had a shitty job and could only pay the interest rate at first. I didn’t know how heinous that shit…
Debt collectors are absolutely not kidding around. As soon as I married my spouse, I started getting phone calls from collectors for one of his family members who doesn’t pay their loans. (I don’t answer the calls, but they leave me long messages about “Just wanting to get in touch with _____”.)
Following up on this because it was reposted after 7 months of Zoom for one job and 2 months of Google Meet for the other—Google Meet sucks. Again, I’m sure it’s fine for meetings, but it’s horrendous for teaching. They claim to have made breakout rooms for ed suite users (which my school account is) but that function…
omg
Thank you, Chocolate Covered Raisons. I try to be worldly but at the end of the day I ham what I ham.
every time I try to do the European kiss greeting thing
I mean, I don’t know much about the guy, but I have a hard time imagining that he’s at all keyed into tabloids or internet chat. I imagine he compares himself to the rest of the British royals. Next to them, he has good looks (Spencer genes). The tabloids are also pretty easy on him, looks-wise.
It’s easy to be confident when you’re the future king. People still fawn over this guy, receding hairline and all!
I love this bingo card SO much
Holy shit that’s a lot of money! But being able to pay the taxes and wanting to pay the taxes are not the same thing. That’s half a million per year just in taxes. Not how I’d want to spend it!
I love this idea and/but I think we need separate categories for Food Fights and Roasts.
I think if she wants it, he should cede ownership of it and give it to her. I doubt she’ll want to pay the taxes on such a property.
I was being slightly vague in my wording because I commented before they updated with the masturbation info, but yeah, what the actual fuck.
I don’t think you can be both disingenuous and live in denial delusion-land. Republican politicians and some of their base are disingenuous. Most, I think, are delusional. It wouldn’t be such a powerful party if they were in touch with their disingenuousness. This kind of evil requires the passion of true believers.
